PS---You can always watch TYT Live from 3-5 pm ET, with a Rolling Post Game 5-7 pm daily Monday-Friday at www.theyoungturks.com The RPG often contains political talk but also many non-political topics to lighten things up (and yes, that audio may not necessarily be work-safe).

Also, if you can't watch live, the 3-5pm portion of the show (politics) streams the rest of the day, all day right after the Post Game Show ends leading up to the initial show at 3pm.

6. yeah he was born there, grew up in NJ
went to law school, decided he didn't want to be a lawyer. ex-Republican.

the early version of The Young Turks was quite intersting too. it featured Cenk and also Ben Mankiewicz (sp?) of Turner Classic Movies fame. get it? a muslim and a jew. the interplay was great, they're good buds.

Cenk continues to be on point, and always amusing. great stuff.

8. Everything the Turk Says Applies Equally to BHO Who's Not Even Following His Own 2010-2012-2016 Plan
(Everything the Turk Says Applies Equally to BHO Who's Not Even Following His Own 2010-2012-2016 Plan):

Just weeks after his arrival in the U.S. Senate, Obama met with his advisers to map strategy for his political future, which some dubbed the "2010-2012-2016" plan. It called for running for: Governor or re-election to the Senate in 2010, then a bid for the White House in 2012 at the earliest.

"One evening in February 2005, in a four-hour meeting stoked by pepperoni pizza and grand ambition, Sen. Barack Obama and his senior advisers crafted a strategy to fit the Obama "brand."

The charismatic celebrity-politician had rocketed from the Illinois state legislature to the U.S. Senate, stirring national interest. The challenge was to maintain altitude despite the limited tools available to a freshman senator whose party was in the minority.

Yet even in those early days, Obama and his advisers were thinking ahead. Some called it the "2010-2012-2016" plan: a potential bid for governor or re-election to the Senate in 2010, followed by a bid for the White House as soon as 2012 or, if not, 2016. The way to get there, they decided, was by carefully building a record that matched the brand identity: Obama as unifier and consensus-builder, an almost postpolitical leader.

The staffers in that after-hours session, convened by Obama's Senate staff and including Chicago political adviser David Axelrod, planned a low-profile strategy that would emphasize workhorse results over headlines. Obama would invest in his long-term profile by not seeming too eager for the bright lights.
'"My profile outstripped my power in the Senate," Obama said in a recent interview in his Capitol Hill office. "I was mindful of the importance of establishing good relationships with my colleagues early on, and making sure that people didn't think I bought into all the hype.' "

9. Tanya Harding, ouch. If Hillary is Rowdy Roddy Piper, then that
would make Obama the Superfly? I'd love to see him do a Snuka-like leap off the top turnbuckle. Would make a good celebrity deathmatch bit.
I don't know if the Curtis Mayfield song of the same name would make an appropriate campaign theme song, but it's a good track none the less. Given the message of this TYT clip, a few lyrics from that tune are in line with Hillary's stance: 'The only game (s)he knows is do or die...This game (s)he plays she plays for keeps...'
