Every year since 1993, Britain's Channel 4 has broadcast an Alternative Christmas Message to coincide with The Queen's Christmas Message, broadcast on Christmas Day at 3pm.

This year, a message of tolerance and peace is sent to the world from a veiled Muslim woman.

and a good message. I would add that it is the individual's choice on how they dress, even in Islam (I'm speaking here of Western countries; in places like Saudi Arabia, ALL women must dress in a certain way, Muslim or not). I interpret the Qur'an and Hadiths on dress to mean dress modestly and don't draw attention to yourself. This is why I do not wear a veil. In my community, that would draw attention to myself. But to each their own.
