1. It was his community organizer roots that attracted me to his candidacy in the beginning.
It takes grit, determination and a true commitment to the community to do that kind of work. It is not easy and it is not glamorous, but it is an opportunity to make a difference. Since that was his first involvement in politics, I figured he is in it for the right reasons.
