Obama wants them to vote. He just wants them to vote for him as the presumptive nominee since his longshot competition has dropped out.

Moreover, we know that her claims are even more BS since he just said yesterday that she can stay in as long as she wants.

15. I know exactly what you mean
I can barely stand her at this point. It's sad, I never expected to feel that way before. I mean, I always disagreed that she was the best candidate, but I never had the visceral reaction I have now, never had anything personal against her.

It's funny (in an absurd way) when Hillary supporters to try say they feel that way about Obama. Why? What has his campaign done (aside from the ill advised surrogate remarks of "monster" and "blue dress") that come even close to what Hillary's campaign has done?

All of this BS started with that horrible, fear mongering, Republican style 3am ad and ever since then it's spiraled downward and out of control. Imagine if Hillary had dropped out after barely winning any delegates on the Ohio/Texas night. Sure, Hillary supporters would have been upset for a while (understandably, until they inevitably and relatively quickly got over it), but Obama would've begun his attacks on McCain (you know, the *real* opponent we should be focusing on as Dems). Instead he's spent millions defending himself from Hillary, and Hillary has spent millions attacking him while also boosting McCain (quite literally, saying he's qualified, experienced and has strong national security cred and loves his country, etc).

In the end, how many millions and millions of dollars will have been spent (directly and indirectly thanks to Hillary) fighting against the likely Dem nominee and fighting for the Republican nominee?

41. I watched it so you wouldn't have to and debunked it right here:

Hillary Clinton's latest lie is that Obama doesn't want North Carolinians to vote.

She went on TV lying to local media and North Carolina Voters.
The Wall Street Journal, owned by Clinton's friend and fund raiser Rupert Murdock, further spread the Clinton fairy tales.
She claimed that she just didn't understand "why Senator Obama and some of his supporters didn't want you to be able to vote."

Clinton's claims fly in the face of logic considering Obama's huge popularity in North Carolina.
In fact, that Obama was just in NC last week and is projected to beat Senator Clinton by 12 points there, this flies in the face of logic. This past weekend, he opened 13 offices across the state -- local headquarters to help organize grassroots supporters from the mountains to the coast.
How is it that the media would give free air time to this politician who was recently and publicly branded as a chronic and brazen liar?
The Washington Post has even awarded Senator Clinton "4 Pinocchios" for her frequent and sizable whoppers.

Hillary Clinton: Obama wants to prevent NC, other states from voting

WWAY NewsChannel 3, March 31, 2008

"I didn't understand why Senator Obama and
some of his supporters didn't want you to be able to vote"

Sen. John McCain is the presumptive nominee for republicans in the upcoming presidential race.
But the nomination is still up for grabs on the Democratic side. NewsChannel 3's Ann McAdams
had the chance to interview Sen. Hillary Clinton via satellite. Clinton spoke about the upcoming
North Carolina primary against Barack Obama.

Senator Obama was just in North Carolina last week, at a Town Hall in Greensboro.

Obama presided over a town hall meeting and took questions from the audience at packed
and loud War Memorial Auditorium.

Most of N.C. delegation to back Obama, congressman predicts

Tuesday, April 1, 2008 Winston Salem Journal By James Romoser and Sean Mussenden

Several North Carolina congressmen are on the verge of endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president,
according to Democrats familiar with the discussions.
"It is my hope and expectation that it will happen sooner or later,"
said U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield, a Democrat from Wilson and the only member of Congress from
North Carolina who has publicly endorsed Obama so far.

Obama expected to win North Carolina by 12 points

Real Clear Politics has Obama winning North Carolina by 12 points over Hillary Clinton with 49.8 - to 37.8.

Rasmussen Markets data now give Obama a 89.0% chance to win the North Carolina Primary
while expectations for a Clinton victory are at 13.0%.
and
Obama a 82.0% chance to win the Democratic nomination
while expectations for a Clinton victory are at 16.0%.

44. And here's the key: If she had just said "some of his supporters" and left Obama out...
...her statement would have been spinable. A stretch, but at least you could parse some truth out of it. "They want me to drop out, if I drop out you can't vote, ergo, they want you to not vote". Now of course we all know they'd get to vote anyway, her not being in the race just might alter the outcome, but I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt here.

But she specifically said Obama said she should drop out. He never did. In fact he said the opposite. And right there, there is no way to spin it to truth. No matter how forgiving you try to be, that is just an outright absolute lie. It would be a lie if Obama had said nothing. But he said the exact opposite. So not only is she saying he said something he didn't, she;s also saying he didn't say something he did. And hell, if we're gonna parse and spin her statements, I can count that as two lies, right?

But I won't. I'm trying to giver her the benefit of the doubt here (not that she's earned it). And the best I can come up with is that she just told another big fucking 180-degrees-from-the-truth lie.

25. Why imply that Obama is calling for voter suppresion?
Actual quote:

“I didn’t understand why Sen Obama (and some of his supporters) wanted to prevent you and (other states) from actually being able to vote.”

Pretty strong accusation if not true.

Think about the statement.

Think about the history of voter suppression.

About Jim Crow. In states like NC. What does this remind you of? Why bring this up? Who is the audience for this kind of statement? How does Clinton want them to react?

More Blah Blah Blah from the Chicken McNugget(C) candidacy.

It's Hillary twisting the semantics of People asking her to step down gracefully and making them "WRONG" at the same time, all with a smiling face and as sweet as can be. Her advisors are so out of touch it is almost painful to watch her self-immolate.

Everytime Obama opens his mouth it is about hope and what he will do in regards to the whole country (ie. to end the war). A positive, forward looking perspective.

Everytime Hillary opens her mouth it is only about bashing Obama, trying to put herself above others, berating her opponent, even lying about him. Negative negative negative.

Is she implying that he wants to keep us from voting by having her drop out? I think the primary will be held whether she's in the race at that point or not. I changed my registration from Unaffiliated to Dem so I could vote for Kucinich, but now I will be voting for Obama as he seems to be (according to the media at any rate) the most liberal (aka progressive) one still standing.

39. Before you crucify Hillary, consider the possibility
that she was responding to Obama's remark that the primary is like a “very good movie that lasted about half-an-hour too long,” and to many explicit calls for her to drop out by Leahy, etc. I don't think it's unreasonable to interpret Obama's remark as a suggestion that she should quit, especially since it coincided with explicit calls for her to quit. But later Obama explicitly said that she should stay in the race for as long as she wants. My guess is that someone told him it would generate bad press for him to continue to suggest that she should drop out, but I could easily be wrong.
