Jane Hamsher: "attack chihuahua."

For those lacking a hippocampus, this croaking jerkus was Al Gore's running mate in 2000.

19. I'd be ashamed to even admit that....
Just kidding of course, but he is the slimiest weasel in politics today. Just to listen to his syrupy voice is enough to make me want to smack him. Of course, once he starts talking, there are plenty of other reasons to hate the guy.

liverwurst is a pathetic excuse for a politician. Glad he doesn't represent me.

7. Perhaps Gore was pushed in that direction.
Maybe at the time Lieberman wasn't obviously the snake he has turned out to be.

I'm not educated about any of this, but willing to give Mr. Gore benefit of doubt that maybe Lieberman was part of a plan to keep him out of the White House.

15. I belive it was soneone pushed him into it and as I have said before if they did not steal the oval
office in 2000 we would have wound up with President Lieberman on 9-11-01! I believe they would have taken out Al and look who would have replaced him! Scary thought isn't it?

16. Interesting.
I hadn't taken it that far. Set Gore up to be in a bad spot on 9/11. Makes sense.

How easy it is for many to blame Gore solely for that maneuver. These things are planned meticulously and we don't know the details of how they come about. One way or the other the fascists were prepared to make their big grab that they had plotted for quite awhile I'm sure.

17. And we would have had the same thing we almost had in 1981 when VP Bush almost got lucky when Raygun
almost bought it. The assassin was a son of a Bush family friend contact or something like that! When you succeed a President that way that term does not count for the 2 terms you can be elected into! Bush could of had two and three quarter terms if Hinckley had succeeded!

21. Yes, I've heard before the theory that 9/11 was initially meant
to be a decade earlier had Raygun's assassination been successful.

30. Yes and wasn't it
Strange that the Bush family were friends of the Hinckley family for 20 years. I also heard the John Lennon's assassin Mark David Chapman lived on some Island doing work for the Hinckley family.

We had no business winning that state. Gore and Lieberman ran a first class campaign in Florida in the final weeks before the election. It's a credit to Al Gore's campaign that we came that close to winning the state and should have won it in 2000 if it wasn't for the butterfly ballots and Katherine Harris.

Listen, I think Lieberman's a piece of shit, but he did help alot in Florida in 2000.

Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 11:08 AM by NJSecularist
And we weren't in that position in the last few weeks of the 2000 election. It's a credit to Lieberman and Gore's campaign in Florida in 2000 during the final weeks that we came close and should have won.

28. Because Liberman was the Democrat who came down hardest on Clinton during the Lewinsky deal.
I think it's as simple as that. He was trying to distance himself from Clinton. Unfortunately, that meant associating with just about the only Democrat further removed from Democratic ideals than Clinton.

My feeling, however, is that at least on the face of it, Lieberman didn't seem like SUCH an awful choice back then. Sure, he was a centrist, but I don't think anyone pegged him for the actual GOP shill he is now.

What is surprising is that Lieberman hasn't been made a regular commentator for FoxNews. He's part of the GOP propaganda machine in every other way.

but his responses are measured and thoughtful. He will hit home with at least 75% of Americans. Our candidates had better come up with some better allegations against Mr. McCain than "he mixed up the Sunni and the Shiites" (misspoke about them) or we are gonna have Mr. Leiberman in a cabinet position in 2009.
