plus, wright didnt say anything on the same level as wright. black people have good reason to be paranoid of such things. tuskegee ended in 1972 -- NINETEEN SEVENTY TWO. aids is known to have originated in africa, and racism was institutionalized by government. wrights only mistake was telling the truth about americas racist history, apparently some people think its racist to talk about racism!. he might be a conspiracy theorist, but blacks have reason to be fearful of such things. imus had no reason to make those remarks, he just did it for a laugh.
are you one of those sweet, old democrats that did po' old colored folk the favor of giving them their civil rights? get the hell outta here with that double standard bs. go watch hannity on fox or something.

I'm going to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is so don't disregard my statement as pro-Obama. Are you really unable to distinguish between the two? This is why I stay out of GD:P. Why are you so full of hate? How does it help the Democratic cause (this is DEMOCRATIC U, after all) to put up this crap?

Barack didn't ask for him to be fired. This racial stuff is very complicated. First of all I think it is very racist of the press to go after Rev. Wright for saying things that are not as off base as rev hagee or parsley who mccain went after for support. No, the racist press LOVES to show loops of an angry black preacher, but not homophobic white preachers. Considering Tuskeegee and the history of AIDS activism and how hard it was to get government help for people with AIDS in the '80s I'm not surprised he said that. It was also Martin Luther King himself who said this nation was founded on genocide and that we are angering G-d with the unjust war in Viet Nam. Listen to some of MLK's speeches on war and poverty and tell me if he should be denounced, too. Rev. Wright was a marine who served this nation and has served his community well. He has helped the poor and sick in his community. He has helped people with AIDS since the early days of the disease. He has a strong history of pro gay rights. He was preaching anti-apartaid since before most politicians in this government knew what apartaid meant.
