Hillary at the 'Compassion forum.'

She is such a pandering phony it's not even funny.

1. I am saddened
that you feel so negative about one of the two leading Democratic Presidental Candidates. Neither should be compared to the likes of *bush...never should happen on a Democrats discussion board.

Damn straight, people like her would be better off switching to the Repugs because I don't want DINO's in our party. Everyone knows what a corporate poodle she is and she is destroying the party by not dropping out of the primaries. She needs to go!

Senator Webb, should go back to being a republican, Clinton and anyone else that didn't vote identical to Kennedy is a Dino then...so, then that will result in a republican controlled Congress, but, you probably already know that.

3. Obama was not my first choice, but now I find Clinton depressing and frightening
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 02:52 AM by Morereason
I was an Edwards supporter and on the fence for a fair while. I have moved over to Obama by default as Clinton has time and again appeared to feel far too comfortable with tactics that the fascists and religious hypocrites use.

Tonight I imagined what it will feel like with another person who postures and plays the politics of self interest, and it was hardly tolerable to imagine having to watch her for four years.

I have been tolerant and supportive of her as in "supporting any Democrat". But now I am almost to thinking we would be better off concentrating on sweeping more seats in Congress. She is feeling too much like a wolf in sheeps clothing these days. I am afraid that she will only bring us a "kinder-gentler" version of the last 8 years.

You sure don't sound like an Edwards supporter. Fascism and religion? Never a subject I've ever heard broached by an Edwards supporter! Stick to selling encyclopedias door to door passing out McCain flyers, you may be more convincing and make a few dollars too.

Both voted for IWR.
Both voted for Kyl/Lieberman
Both have been too narcissistic to step down after loosing a primary

Sounds like a good analogy to me.

14. It is sad that our candidates would prefer a republican over a democrat as well
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 07:15 AM by OhioBlues
Something Senator Clinton has stated herself. It's sad that it doesn't matter to her who gets hurt.
The negative feelings are caused by the way she is running her campaign. The fact that she can't even relate to compassion is startling.

17. I'm saddened that our (s)election system...brought to you by
the corporate MSM pretty much forces candidates to put themselves in situations like this. It's a one ring circus where we make them perform under a spotlight before a sold out tent of (in this case) hundreds of people from a faith based focus group forum. They must walk a razor thin high wire without a net on an issue (in this case, religion) that should be a private issue between the candidate and his or her god(s). This whole time we have cardboard cut out "news people" running around like paparazzi clowns with their shoes on fire spraying each other as well as everyone else in the tent with seltzer. Asshat pundits in sequined black ropes practice cheap parlor magic by pulling sensational sound bites from their hats while they hide truth up the sleeves. Campaign worker chimpanzees, mistreated and malnourished to the point of frothing rabidity fling excrement into the air and at each other hoping to knock one, oh, hell, who cares...ALL the candidates off the wire...

This is how we should spend an afternoon of entertainment with the kids not choose the chief executive of our endangered nation.

23. Did she really dress like this during the clinton years?
If she did, the excesses of laura'the joker' bush made me totally forget. I heard tho, that the yellow was a focus group thing. They polled a bunch of, ahem, 'Hil's base' and asked what they prefered to see her in and that yellow was part of it.

IMO, they have lousy taste and I can't believe that Hillary needs a focus group to tell her what the 'in' clothes are.

Truthfully, if memory serves, she used to look classy. Now she looks frumpy. And republican.

At a formal event, you don't dress like you're going to a cocktail party.

It's just not good manners, and reveals a lack of respect for the audience.

Interesting she would consiously choose to present herself in similar if not identical outfits while running against a younger more dynamic candidate riding a wave of momentum while spreading a message of change.

Guess the polls told her the way to win the PA Democratic primary was to talk like a Republican. Clinton - if she is to be believed, and I encourage you to take a grain of salt with that - is well on her way to outflanking John McCain from the right.

Why are they validating this forum anyway? I can't get behind either of them on this. I don't anchor my life around imaginary spirits in the sky. Why do I want to place my future in the hands of someone who does?

Why can't we just worship the Constitution at our Altar of Politics? Is that really so much to ask? It's more powerful, moral and compassionate than any religion I've ever encountered.

10. She did a fabulous job, as did Mr. Obama
And some of you so called "Democrats" may need a little psychotherapy session to help you figure out why you need to express such hate for a woman who is working as hard as she can to do the toughest job in this nation.

What, does she look like your mom or something? Remind you of your kindergarten teacher?

Geesh. Get a life. Hillary is not GWB. What kind of Democrat says something like that?

12. I probably do need psychotherapy.
Not for expressing "hate" for a woman, but for the stress that a particular woman has caused or indirectly caused in my life and the lives of people that I love.

Does it really matter what letter is behind the name with records like these:

IWR
Kyl-Lieberman
Patriot Act
Bankruptcy Bill
Silence on Telecom Immunity
No on banning Cluster bombs
NCLB
WFRA

and combined with the other Clinton legacies:

NAFTA
Welfare reform
Repeal of Glass-Stegall
Iraq Sanctions/bombings
Drug Laws

Just a grab bag of stress for the middle-class and poor American families.

32. In this capacity, Hillary is a candidate first and foremost
who just happens to be a woman. Anyone who sees fit to enter the competitive political arena should be judged solely on the first criteria. The notion that any criticism of her tactics is latent sexism or representing some subconscious projection of childhood resentment is, well, utter nonsense.

29. The problem is...
it makes it a little harder to volunteer at a shelter when you're lining up at it.

The stress comes from having to work two or three jobs just to get by. Many people have little or no time to sacrifice their time at a shelter.

It's not Hillary who is solely to blame. It's every politician that has allowed this to perpetuate.

Stop resorting to ad hominen attacks just because people do not like your candidate; try addressing their arguments. Your of the same ilk as the Hillary bashers.

41. that one line really does sound like Bush
"My faith has given me the confidence to make difficult decisions whether anybody agreed with me or not."

So, we'd get another "decider" on a "mission from God"?

To a degree, I suppose anybody who considers themself a Christian would say that they are taking the path less chosen and walking the straight and narrow way, often-times to the world's derision. But back in October of 2002, the majority of public opinion and the majority of Congress was in favor of the Iraq war. To have stood against it would have been the courageous decision, would have been the path less travelled, and that is what she didn't do.

42. WTF
does compassion have to do with religion?

I was under the impression that this was a forum on compassion. What the hell does her religion have to do with that?

George Wanker Bush claims to be religious too but all signs point to him being a sociopathic sadist.

All this religious talk needs to stop. The president is the secular head of a secular country. All this piety nonsense needs to stay in the church pews. If I wanted to hear about someone's religion I'd watch one of those Hallelujah channels.

If she really wanted to show some compassion she'd go away.

:grr:
