Okay - I just watched this again.

When HRC says "I will do whatever I can to make sure one of us takes the oath of office next January. I think that has to be the overriding goal. Whatever we have to do.......... "Once that is resolved (nominee chosen) I think it is imperative that our entire party close ranks, that we become unified. (CUT TO CHELSEA) I will certainly do whatever is necessary to ensure that a Democrat is in the WH next January."

When I saw it last night, I thought Chelsea looked so proud of her mom -- almost on the verge of tears she was so proud.

Watching it again, I'm wondering if Hillary isn't kind of laying the groundwork to bow out if PA (and/or NC and/or IN) don't garner the needed results.

And now, I'm wondering if Chelsea is yes, so proud, but even MORE proud of what her mom is going through and preparing for.

Am I reading too much into this?

My mom always told me I had a too-active imagination, so if you tell me I'm whack, it'll be nothing new.

1. Gately, I had the very strong impression when I saw Chelsea's face
that it is over, and that she knew it and her mom knew it and they had already talked about it, probably very recently; and that's why her eyes were full of tears and she had that look of love and pride and sadness too when hillary was talking. It was such a strong impression and I almost posted about it earlier tonight but didn't feel like getting attacked by Hillary supporters. I generally find my instincts are accurate and that I read people well, though of course I could be completely wrong. But that's exactly what I thought. Exactly what you said.

3. When I got that thought when watching it again,
I just have a feeling I'm right.

Just took me a little longer to get that intuitive hit. :)

2. I actually thought the same thing
So your mother would say the same to me. In Chelsea's eyes, I saw deep love and pride, but almost in a melancholy way. Sort of a "she fought the good fight, but..."

4. Yes! Well put --
and I must say, that if we're right, that what Hillary is doing and how she's going about it is admirable.

5. Nothing admirable about her neocon attacks on Obama with no chance of winning.
I'm sorry, but there is no mathematical chance of Hillary winning, Hillary supporters need to wake up to this fact. She surely has, as the OP said. Yet she still allowed (orchestrated?) the debacle of a debate last night, and she continues to attack Obama to the superdelegates about Rev. Wright. and other petty, trivial matters. She lost her chance for bowing out with grace.

7. Gee, thanks for your opinion,
it's really not what I was asking. I wasn't asking if there was a mathematical chance of Hillary winning. I wasn't asking what your impression was of the debate/debacle last night. I'm weary of asking straight questions and getting knee jerk reactions -- from both sides, when I'l seeking an objective response.

Never mind.

9. You're asking if Hillary is "laying the groundwork", and I answered it was too late for that
I answered your question clearly.

11. No you didn't
You went on a rampage on mathematics and chances for Hillary which is a very common reaction of what has become the Obama-Cult club.

I agree that Obama is a very intelligent man, but it always strikes me how he stutters during debates and whenever he is asked a hard question. On the other hand, Hillary seems to have the answer already crafted as she speaks straight forward, no stutters, just flows through the answer.

One thing is to give prepared speeches and the other is to answer to straight questions. Next time be objective and count Obama's stutters.

I don't agree that Hillary is preparing to throw in the towell, I believe that she will fight until the end but she is doing the right thing by laying out the groundwork for all democrats in questions of unity.

DU and Olberman have been a real disspointment when it comes to this democratic campaign as both have become, for Olberman the "Obama Network" and for DU "The Obama Blog".

Ok, so I went on a rampage as well....

16. Yeah you did --
go on a rampage as well :7

And to be brutally, the other poster's answer was closer in "range" than yours. Obama's stuttering? Huh? :eyes:

Although I'm not sure if I agree that she will stay in until the convention or not, I do agree that she was laying the groundwork for unity, which is good -- regardless of her motives.

6. The Democratic Party is going to throw itself under the bus if it picks B.O. ...
and doesn't count Michigan and Florida before the Convention.

are you saying that I am reading something into it? Not following how this responds to my question. Thanks.

10. Of course she is!
She's a very smart lady. And... in fact... she will do what it takes to win the Whiote House for the Dems in November. She has always placed her party's well being above her own.

15. I read it the same way. I thought Hillary Clinton had a great performance
and that she and Chelsea knew that this was the imagine they wanted to leave with everyone(I saw the tears of pride and sadness). She still twisted the knife a little but it was just a repeat of what she had already said. I feel if her campaign hadn't of turned so dirty she might be the one in the lead. It's too bad(for her dreams). Obama has a way of unifying everyone and we're going to need that to help clean up the corruption from the current administration and to lead our country into the right direction. I put ABC in the same category as FOX news now.
