3. That didn't mean anything |

Obama was clearly just brushing some lint off his suit. That gesture didn't have any meaning at all, even though the audience went nuts when they saw it. WHY must you people read something into EVERYTHING?

Perhaps.
Obama is naturally cool, even without trying to be.
Obama properly gestures insults when and where they need to go, even without trying to do so.

Victory! Obama's a great speaker & he knows how to communicate w/a crowd. This small gesture, like that other small gesture, were perfectly placed to convey a world of meaning in one small moment. Obama was pretty cool there, I'll give you that.

Well.. maybe not, maybe "disconnected" or what is it they call it lately. The gesture speaks to those that understand it :)

People who think that gesture was some sort of Jay-Z reference are totally misinterpreting it! Obama didn't do the "dirt on my shoulder" gesture on purpose! It was accidental! It was just lint, or maybe an itch, that's all. The way he paused for the gesture, the way the audience reacted, in no way means that the gesture was intentional. Just because Obama is a great orator & knows how to work a crowd, people think he means the gestures he makes during a speech. No way - totally innocent. Just like the finger. :)

But assuming the finger was on purpose... I feel he "spoke" in my name with it, and I like him just the more for it. :P Might not be a smart political move, but then.. what is?

Not to say you or anyone else is out of touch BUT that "gesture" in the Hip-hop community means that an event has left you unharmed. The Jay -Z song being played over it just reinforces it. The crowd felt (even if he didn't mean it ). that he was showing his feelings. i trust that after he did it he knew what they were cheering for.

That just rocked.
You'll see that on replay for years to come.
Makes "boxers or briefs" pale in comparison.

The minute I saw him brush his shoulders at that rally, the Jay-Z track sprung IMMEDIATELY up in my mind and I knew it was just a matter of time before someone did this. I'm sitting here laughing and cringing at the same time while watching this. Laughing at Obama dancing and looking cool, cringing at the shot of him Photoshopped into the Pimp Suit. Probably could have done without that.
I also knew it was just a matter of time before the 99 Problems track became a part of all of this too. And there it is....
