If I wanted to make a video like that, there is a way that I can tell my system that any web request to democraticunderground.com is to be redirected to foxnews.com. It would take one line of typing to make it happen, and it would look just like the example in this video.
If it was repeatable by other people, it could have been an insecure SQL/PHP page that had an injection hack or something. It could have been a Clinton supporter, a McCain supporter, a bored Russian, a Chinese hacker testing a new tool, it could just as easily have been an Obama supporter wanting to make something to piss people off about Senator Clinton.
I'm not saying it wasn't hacked, but I am saying that I could recreate this with one line of text.

I wonder if the site administrator forgot to enable all of the injection protections. I'd really be interested to hear what they find the hack was. Was it something they should have been able to protect against, or was it sophisticated.
There are millions of holes in the way the internet works. New ones are found and cataloged all the time. It's one of the reasons the Feds are so worried about the Chinese and Russian hacking teams. They have nothing to do all day but filter through the source code to everything and find exploits. If it ever gets into a "shooting" war between intelligence organizations through the net, we will have a major problem.

12. Absolutely true. This could be quite simple to do |
|
Even if it was hacked, it was more of a childish prank than anything else, plus a good warning to the webmaster. This most likely was not done by the Clinton campaign. They would have stolen the mailing list from the server, not hacked the link.

Professional espionage would be untraceable and would leave no tracks.
I could see somebody making an /etc/hosts file that redirects that request to a different website and then claiming dirty tricks.
Sounds like it hit more people, so it must have been server side.

19. I vote for the Freeper idea, if it was server side. |
|
That would be like them, to pull this kind of prank to stir up another controversy.

14. I'm sure Hillary personally authorized this meaningful and effective attack. |
|
And I'm sure it was a Clinton supporter that perpetrated the attack, because nobody else with any other interest would do this dastardly deed.
And "You're right, no human being would stack books like this."
