This YouTube clip is on a small part of the segment with Phil. For the entire segment, click here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=3198091&mesg_id=3198091

Also, here is a clip (the topic is referenced by Donahue in the segment above) regarding top generals being paid by the Bush Administration for Iraq War propaganda:

PS---Keep in mind you can always watch The Young Turks 24 hours a day at www.theyoungturks.com . The streaming video/audio means you can minimize the window and surf the net or post at DU while you hear Cenk break down the latest politics.

And you can also join the chat while the show is on live from 3-5pm EST, and during the post game show (where in addition to politics, many other less serious topics are discussed) from 5-7pm EST.

4. Here's the thing though
Eisenhower definitely had his good points - and to his ever-lasting credit warned us of the military-industrial complex . . . but only on his way out of the door, after feeding the beast with cold-war build-ups throughout his term.

Did he feel he had a choice? We'll probably never know.

15. Truman didn't like him
I read his (Truman's) autobiography years ago, and as I recall, he thought Ike was quite passive -- something to the effect like, " couldn't do anything without a memo."

7. Brings to mind....
Some speech when Bush was announcing invasion plans. Before the cameras were on live, he was standing there pumping his fist and saying to himself; "Yeah! Feels good!"

MIC exists to make stuff that gets blown up. Education and health care benefits are some of the best investments for our future our tax dollars can make. But we let them piddle away our taxes on stuff that blows up.

14. I saw the movie last night and Phil and Ellen were both there for a discussion
at the end. I highly recommend the movie - urge everyone you know to see it. It brings the war home in the most profound personal way that talking head kind of documentaries miss.
