1. INTRO by Rev. Wendell Anthony.

This is well worth watching, too, because it gives a great bio of Rev. Wright, which is very impressive: _Intro_

5. Goodness gracious!
From the video: "KEEP on preaching, KEEP on teaching..."

No matter how you may feel about the man, if the good Rev's intro for Rev. Wright didn't give you the chills, nothing will!

6. Thanks for posting - I'm enjoying hearing this
He's a fantastic speaker - I can tell this is someone who even if I didn't agree with him on everything, he's still going to make me think.

and he can be very funny!

7. Wright has been challenging...
...and that is part of a pastor's responsibilities. He also describes things in a wonderfully pointed way: http://youtube.com/watch?v=xQkHBJS19F8

9. Absolutely awesome!
I am excited, that was a GREAT speech, exciting, a great lesson and fun, too. If you can't understand the message, you don't want to.

Very interesting was the left-brain/right-brain example he gave. Or the music example... I think, different is not only not deficient but as individuals (of any race) we can pick now what suits us best from the different cultures. All these cultures evolved over many centuries but their inventions are not exclusively useable or suitable to their immediate members.
We now live in an age where everyone has the oppurtunity to learn about the different approaches to the same thing. That's what Wright's examples were about.

Jeremiah Wright is a great man. I hope at least some corporate media addicted people will understand what he said...

Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 06:25 AM by curiousdemo
This man gave a history lesson on the differing cultures and how it relates to each other every day life styles. As he stated, it's nothing wrong with that, its just different. Take that, all you corporate elitist jerks.

12. Thanks for your postings!
Thanks! I'm so glad to see all of these postings. I thought it was a great speech! I was glued to every word. However, after the speech, CNN had comentators who critized it. I couldn't believe it! I thought maybe I was off but your postings let me know I'm not. I think people just saw it was Rev. Wright and didn't even give his speech a chance. I may not agree with everything he says also but if he was in my town, I'd go listen to him speak also.

13. ...and another thing....
People are trying to say that Rev. Wright's return to public will hurt Obama. I don't think so...first of all, talk about him was not going away....and now after hearing him speak, I can understand why Obama was with him all these years.

27. I think listening to the critique you hear where you stand
Obama is not Wright.

If you think Rev. Wright is not inflammatory, you don't hear the pointed barbs he directs at people who disagree as he is speaking.

If you think Rev. Wright is inflammatory, you hear every barb and every jab he places on the offended.

Whether or not he is defending himself alone, Trinity UCC by itself, or the entire conference of the United Church of Christ or the black Church; no one would argue that he does not know how to respond to the darts and arrows slung at him.

I think what he has said will be put into sound bites that no one can defend. However, I don't think Obama should he become the Democratic nominee will have to get a new shocking or inspiring range of allegations by the Republicans. I do now believe that the assault on Wright by the media and later Hillary (keeping the story alive) brought out most of the left side of the debate.

By the general election, the trenches on Wright will be dug and no one will be crossing over if voters choose to vote on that.

After hearing the commentariat's worse allegations and McCain's rejoinder, I don't think this is enough to topple Obama. After hearing Wright speak, I can say for sure

Wright is not Obama.

Obama does not go after the press the way Wright did here

20. Those yellow FOX News graphics are absolutely hideous
It hurt my eyes when I flipped past it. CNN was a bit more subdued.

This must have been serious breaking news. They didn't even go that far after the 9/11/01 attacks.

23. That intro was off the charts!
I know people want J.R to run and hide somewhere until January. But that would be cowardly. I loved the speech at the dinner, and you can see where someone as smart as Obama would attend this mans church. The morons that keep saying
"Obama attended a church that preached hate for 20 years" obviously don't go to church. Trinity United would not have been successful if they propagated hate. I don't agree with everything my Pastor says, but I chose to still go to my church. Christians are not sheep.

26. I really hope this election shows the MSM how out of touch they are with mainstream America.
I'm so tired of hearing the news gerbils droning on about how Rev. Wright is pulling down Obama. I would love to see Obama get the nomination and blow McCain out of the water November, jsut to show the media how they've spent too much time in their ivory towers and it's time for them to get off their fat asses and actually cover the news they claim to report.

28. Me too, people are catching on that the only reason we hear
all this nonsense about Reverend Wright is because the Media will do anything to avoid discussing real issues like:

Health Care
Cost of College Education
Iraq War
Foreign Policy
Poverty
Job losses
Mortgage crisis
Fuel prices
Massive inflation
Environmental problems
Wall Street and Big Banking Corruption
Big Insurance Corruption
etc.

Reverend Wright and Obama are far more educated than these pundit ponies, and they are showing the people they are betraying them.
