1. This was very helpful for me to have a digested version of
what it is/was the Democratic party was/did do. That Racael Maddow is able to report.

2. Rachel Maddow...Pretty much everywhere she appears,
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 09:35 AM by lazyriver
is the smartest person in the room. I know, I know, next to Buchanan, a 40 pound bag of manure looks like Einstein, but still, Rachel Maddow is extremely bright.

She adds so much credibility to MSNBC with her knowledge and confident delivery style.

Edited for bad spelling.

3. That moron in the yellow needs to be ran over by a tank.

what an idiot she is. i know she's reading a script and all of that, but i'm so tired of the corporate media assumption that only democrats make political calculations or back-room deals. if republicans were in this situation, the suggestion of back-room dealing or political calculation would be neither expressed or implied.

6. I don't know about being run over by a tank,
but no one should wear a yellow suit on camera. That's not a sexist thing to say: I'm equally opposed to men wearing yellow suits.

5. About 0:16 in, she mentions "even my wife"
It's so nice to have an openly gay, married peronality on television just being herself and not being "the gay one".

10. She was quoting Howard Dean,
who was repeating what Judith said to him. It'd be nice if she could be that open on TV, but I guess this just wasn't the time.

11. except...
that was her quoting Howard Dean (Howard Dean said,"even my wife...")

so even tho' Maddow is gay, this had nothing to do with her wife. The other thing is that Maddow talks about politics, I don't think she cares to talk about her own life that much, but rather comment on the politics.

9. Diversity
I like the section a little less than 4:00 minutes in where they talk about the diversity of the Dems and how this is what is the coming zeitgeist: Diverse groups hashing it out to try to be fair. Isn't that what the Dem Party is supposed to be about? Listening to everyone and trying to be fair? The Repugs have that lock step, "You're either with us or against up" thing going.

I thought this was a "changing of the rules in the middle of the game" and would be perceived as wishy-washy flip flopping. And it will be characterized as such by the Right. But. y'know, it's such a given that the Right will smear and spin, it's almost assumed that's what they're up to. So that would happen anyway. But this is also a look at open (well, more open) "working something out" than we've seen in 8 years. It sure is harder and not a no-nonsense deal, but it is better than the totalitarian secret crap we've been getting from the Repugs.
