The private military firm Blackwater has gone from being a relatively unknown contractor working in Iraq to a household name and the subject of multiple investigations, lawsuits and congressional inquiries. In the meantime, the company continues to reap millions of dollars in profits and was recently awarded a new contract from the State Department. 3. Admittedly I haven't done a lot of research on this, but if you can, please answer

Have we always used companies like Blackwater or is this a recent invention of law that the Bush administration has given us? I still can't quite wrap my brain around the fact that we've outsourced the National Guard and the Army and these guys are making 10x what the regular military gets and immune from prosecution for war crimes? Because honest to god to me this sounds more like a crime syndicate than a legit business. The whole thing gives me the creeps. I'd rather go back to having a draft (with decent pay for the draftees) than this whole ugly mess. Sorry if this is basic info that I should already know but it's something I've only recently been starting to think about.

8. Endless scandals and seemingly no consequences for the Bush Admin.

The list is so terribly long that I can't keep up. Maybe the key to corruption is an all out blitz of lies and lawbreaking. There's just too much shit they are into for anyone to wrap their head around it all in 8 years and bring up charges.

All this is going on and on, people dying, murders committed, all the suffering and all I see on mainstream news is the primaries, a fire somewhere, some Mormons in Texas, the weather, sports, etc. This is ridiculous.
