It's good to see some of the mainstream media recognizing the fact that for the past 12 months at least, Hillary Clinton has been the target of a continuous barrage of mysoginistic attacks launched against her by mostly male journalists abusing their positions of power, privilege and access to airtime in the national news media.

1. We have different expectations of acceptable behavior for men and women...

and the media is no different.

Matthews' name-calling, and the fact that he has not been fired for it is Exhibit "A."

The experience of newspaper editors has shown that female columnists receive more hate mail. At universities, female professors are the subject of more complaints, vastly so.

People feel more comfortable criticizing women than men.

2. I've not seen much sexist hillary bashing in the liberal blogosphere

lots of talk about how she has been hurting the party, but very little of the conservative "nutcracker" type stuff.
