I am the person who created this video...I've actually never heard of this website before but I noticed tonight that it was linked from my youtube page and I just had to create an account here to say how honored I am to see that my video has made it to the front page of your forum here! This seems like a really great community.

I'm also really glad everyone has enjoyed the video! It was something I put together yesterday, in my small gesture to pay tribute to our amazing candidate and this history changing nomination!

Ironically yesterday, I was chatting with a friend that I have online who is an O supporter, and she was so pumped up over the nomination and she was telling me how she wanted to make an Obama soundtrack. Then she said, he's SIMPLY THE BEST!

I was like, no way! I am literally make a video as we speak with that very song included! So I knew that one was a great fit.

Maybe I'm not supposed to say this...but I have felt pride in my country for the first time in a very long time. This brought tears to my eyes. The more I've thought about his nomination (and frankly because we were going to make history with the first woman or black man), the more "WOW" I've thought. I remember the cold day in Illinois when he announced. Yes, I thought to myself..."A black man as president?" Again...WOW.

The one from the Patriot Ledge (Massachusetts, 3 min) is my favorite. It's the double meaning of "race" and to me, a play on "the rest is history" too. Clever.

It's interesting that these headlines were apparently written by three people. Especially the words "clinched" and "historic" got used a lot.

More interesting, and indicative of the challenge we have ahead, are the second lead stories. Did you see them? Cops shot. Former gym teacher arrested for molesting students. Problems about black teachers being fired. A place where they're trying to build a new library. Not very happy at all.

We've got a lot of work ahead. All of us, no matter who we supported initially.
