Unfortunately this clip is not homepage eligible as it's a day too old, which means it'll barely get the views it deserves. Oh well, it happens.

PS---Keep in mind that you can download the first hour of The Young Turks free every day through Itunes. Also, the show loops 24 hours a day at www.theyoungturks.com

I have been frustrated by this problem for as long as I've been interested in politics. I am happy to have an intelligent, informed, level headed debate with conservatives but there aren't any that I can find. There is so much lying, xenophobia & misinformation in contemporary RW philosophy that you can't have an intelligent debate anymore. My 'debates' usually consist of someone I know saying something false and me explaining why that is false only to have them repeat it or say something else that is false. As one example of many, my dad said volcanos produce more CO2 than man, I explained that the USGS found that to be false and he said the same thing again. That is not a debate when someone says something false and you try to correct that misinformation. That is the job of an editor, not a debator.

My view is almost all of the rational, intelligent, informed republicans have left they party by now to become independents or libertarians.

2. What's really pathetic - they think they're good at debate
I've had my share of on-line debates with some of the nuts who still worship *. It's really interesting to watch how they react when they've been caught making stuff up. One of my favorites was a guy who claimed that Richard Armitage was a Democrat. Even after providing a link to his bio at the Whitehouse web site, he would not admit error, or explain where he had gotten his information. They really don't realize how humiliated they should be.
