I made this mashup from an hour long Fox special hosted by E.D. Hill titled, "Radical Islam: Terror In Its Owns Words" which aired in February 2007. It was a despicable hate filled propaganda piece made to stoke the fears of Fox viewers. Anyways, I cut the piece to only include E.D. Hill's words which are, in a word, gross.

So I encourage all to watch (sorry the video quality ain't so great) and determine for themselves if you buy E.D. Hill's apology regarding the Barack/Michele Obama "terrorist fist jab". For my money her statement was just consistent with her prior hate filled work.

3. You're comparing apples and oranges

Even Ms. Hill knows the difference. Perhaps she a little smarter than the average FoxNews personality. One has the idea that she would be a better journalist if she worked for a real news outlet; the same cannot be said of less professional propagandists on FoxNews such as Bill O'Reilly, John Gibson or Sean Hannity.

She was talking in this piece about radical Islam. Let's not kid ourselves, it's a real phenomenon. Whether she took it over the top on this program aired in February 2007, I couldn't say; the reporting was edited out of this video and all we say were Ms. Hill's introductions after commercial breaks and teasers before them. She may have over-sensationalized the issue; after all, this is FoxNews.

Nevertheless, she nowhere in the tape attempted to conflate the common folkways of Americans with some imaginary sub-culture of terror within our boarders. Nowhere on this tape did she suggest the Mr. Bush's political opposition is part of a terrorist conspiracy.

Last Friday, Ms. Hill appeared to make such a conflation in the case of the pound between Senator and Mrs. Obama as he was about to give his victory speech a few days earlier. During the broadcast, at least those parts of it that I saw in this forum, she made no further derogatory reference to the pound and her guest, a body language expert, dismissed it something entirely innocent. Ms. Hill did not, Bill O'Reilly style, jump all over her guest to try to get her to say otherwise.

On Monday, Ms. Hill apologized for the gaffe. She's no John Gibson, either. Never would Gibson have apologized for such a remark; he would have restated it and charged that those who questioned his judgment were terrorists just like the Obamas. Consequently, I accept Ms. Hill's apology. There is no evidence that she really intended to be as outrageous as she sounded, and there is nothing in the piece in the OP to suggest that she conflates Democrats in general with radical Islamists.
