But the truth is, I'd like to see Affirmative Action be changed to where super rich minorities and women who can afford college everywhere don't get the nod, and we just act on the poor, along with the other attributes, by which we judge.

Change it, mend it, make it better, but don't end it. This black and white attitude is a sickness of Republicans. They have to get rid of everything, rather than improve it.

right after he is able to end overt and subtle racism and negative differential treatment towards minorities and women by employers, government officials and bodies, law enforcement, banking institutions, educational institutions, etc., which AA is meant to offset to help give a more fair playing field to all Americans. I think BO is good, but I don't think he is THAT good. We still have quite some distance to go but we are on the right track with Obama being sworn in in 200 or so days.

that make it easier for those in power, with money, to get more power and more money. Affirmative Action didn't ship jobs overseas. Affirmative Action didn't cut health care coverage. Affirmative Action didn't fuck up the mortgage system so that people are losing their homes by the thousands EVERY MONTH, while the CEO's of those companies take home multimillion dollar salaries and "golden parachutes". Affirmative Action didn't give tax cuts to the rich, or turn a blind eye to the rich avoiding the taxes they owe by setting up shell companies in the Caymans. All of those things were caused by the people in power, who have been in power for generations, but you'd better believe that they will do everything they can to scare the working class whites into thinking that it's white against black, when really it's haves against have nots.
