I support many of the policies of the Venezuelan government, but the persistent interference in the Colombian internal war does no favors to any party involved. This is a matter for the people of Colombia to decide. And honestly, his assessment is easy to make while he sits in power in Caracas. Peasant and labor leaders are disappeared and killed in Colombia regularly. The popular movements there need to conduct their own assessment of how to safeguard their personal security.

Bush opposes FARC. FARC is a nominally Marxist-Leninist armed organization that has been fighting since the 1960's, though, it would at times be unclear WHAT it is they are fighting for. It doesn't seem like they are fighting for state power, but rather to negotiate a slice of the pie. Bush supports the right-wing Colombian government.
