http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/15/gingrich-supreme-court-decision-will-cost-us-a-city/
On Face the Nation this morning, former House speaker Newt Gingrich echoed the extreme rhetoric of the right wing to decry the Supreme Court’s recent decision restoring the right of habeas corpus petitions to Guantanamo detainees, charging the decision would “cost us a city”:

"This court decision is a disaster, which could cost us a city. And the debate ought to be about whether you’re prepared to lose an American city on behalf of five lawyers — it was a five to four decision. … That ought to be a principled argument between McCain and Obama, about whether or not you’re prepared to allow any random, nutcake district judge who has no knowledge of national security to set the rules for terrorists."

Gingrich is taking his cues from Justice Antonin Scalia, who in his dissent declared that the majority’s decision “will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed.”

1. Well I guess Newt will just have to move out of the country
If he has no use for our constitution then he'll just have to live elsewhere. May I suggest that he take his fellow constitution hating conservatives with him.

5. Exactly what I was thinking!
Let's cede Guantanamo to the ultra-conserves and then they can negotiate a contract with Cuba so they can live in perpetuity in their own little paradise! OR... they might strike a deal to move in with Dub in Paraguay. I know alot of the LAST Fascist regime found a home there!

Newt Ginggrinch - who said all the "terror lizards" were extinct???

2. Five judges
Gee, I don't seem to remember Newt complaining about the 5 to 4 decision back in 2000, you know, the one which gave us Duh-Bya.

Funny how that works...

3. Funny how Gingrich....
.... had no problem with the very same Supreme Court stealing Florida 2000 for Bush.

What an evil reptile the Newt is.

I'm hoping McSame picks him to run as VP. The Obama camp would be rubbing its hands with glee!

Evidently Newt didn't notice when the Supreme "Gang of 5" stole the election for the Bush family . . . ????

Will America EVER wake up to this BS --- ???

We lost the WTC because of the mythical story that NORAD was "out of town and out of touch"
on 9/11 . . . ???? !!!!

Followed by a long list of other "coincidences" that all point to the neo-cons at work under
Cheney's leadership --- !!!

How frightened the right-wing is of even a limited amount of representation and law on the
side of these people who have been held for more ethan 5 years now !!!!

And the lawyers trying to represent them threatened --- !!!

And many of them on hunger strikes and trying to kill themselves --- !!!

What's left of these people after 6 years that could be so threatening to these liars---???

8. I'm sorry Newtie....
.... but I missed the part of the Ruling that gave the prisoners the key to Gitmo and a gun and some dynamite. Would you please tell me what city we have lost? I mean I know it hasn't happened yet, but we might as well act like it already has. Ahhhhh.... if only you guys had been this vigilant when you got that DPB, "Bin Ladin Determined to Attack in US". That wasn't even 22 pages long!

10. Who are you calling a nutcake, Newt?
To paraphrase the late Hamilton Jordan, being called a nutcake by the Georgia venomous Newt is like being called ugly by a toad.

14. When he first left Congress, he was appearing on here and there --- and on C-span ---
alerting us to the fact that "The Chinese are coming! The Chinese are coming!" ---
I think he's still looking for his reward/payback from the neo-cons for all the
dirty work he did for them over the decades ---
