I've caught all of his major speeches since 2000. Sure is great to see im hitting the trail for Obama. And in Detroit MI no less! This Michigander is mighty happy.

That was the best speech I have EVER heard coming for Gore. Did he write it? His past speeches were so stiff and boring that it put me to sleep.

14. too bad you slept thru the barnburners |
|
on the destruction of the Constitution and the September '02 speech he mentions. His speeches, sponsored by MoveOn, were amazing. Glad to see you're awake now.
Every time I hear him, I can't help but think 'what if'. We would be in a much better place, invading Iraq would still be a neo-con wet dream; our global reputation wouldn't be trash; our Constitution would still be in one piece; roberts & alito would not be sitting on the Supreme Court; FEMA would still work; our recognition of climate change and contribution to its solution would be underway; the list is exhausting.

10. I love Al. He was there in 2000, but the media was there to dissuade |
|
the voters. I have supported Al for so many years; did the media keep you from voting for him in 2000? He won massively...more popular vote margin than any in US history except second Reagan run. We owe the media and the Bushista (especially Jeb) and the Supreme Court sleazy FIVE for the disasters of the past 8 years. Let's pay them back by making sure the pugs lose big in every category!!!!

I saw the whole thing on CNN. Incredibly powerful! B-)
I loved the part when Al thanked the people of Michigan for supporting him in 2000.
I am happy to K&R this one for Al (and for Barack!) :kick:

16. IT MEANS NOTHING - Sort of. |
|
Gore endorsing Obama has no real effect on the race. Gore doesn't give Obama any more votes that he didn't have already. I'm surprised that he waited till after the primary to endorse.

19. Gore's endorsement will help the process of uniting the party behind our nominee |
|
It also helps to reinforce the perception that Barack Obama is ready to be President.
Speaking for myself - if Al Gore says he is the right person for the job - then I agree.
The fact that Obama won the nomination without Gore's help only makes his victory more legitimate.
I am very pleased that Gore did not join John Kerry and Ted Kennedy in endorsing Obama during the early primaries.
If he had done so - it would have fed into the idea that all the guys were "piling on" Senator Clinton.
Plus Gore got his fingers burned last time around when he endorsed Howard Dean before the 2004 primaries.
