Nixon smiles a lot, so it will be interesting to compare his to McCain (I'm not sure this makes sense, but you know how someone can smile for 3 seconds and really mean it, but they hold that smile for 10 seconds and you know they hated it for the next 7 seconds ... that's how Richard Nixon smiles.)

2. Nixon's smile is without a doubt

the creepiest thing I've ever seen in my life.

I was born in 1973, and the first thing I ever remember having explained to me about politics, by my dad, was "what Nixon did."

And they wonder why my generation is cynical.

4. As a kid, I could never hear Nixon on the TV

because my Dad would sit there and hiss at him and mutter expletives when we watched him.

And I'll never forget watching the SOB resign on that huge Admiral television we had (the one with the stereo and phonograph built into the cabinet).

I had forgotten that line that Nixon used...picked up from a sign seen along the way. Just like a uniter, not a divider. What a load of crap from two Republicans. Nixon was the most divisive leader up until Bush II. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

6. I'm not sure Nixon won the '68 election . . . I think maybe Humphrey did . . . ???

I begin to wonder about every election after that ---
