Bush could have had Osama in early 2002 with just a little more effort. He made his bed, let him sleep in it.
As for Osama, I hope he dies a very painful and agonizing death and soon.

8. You know, Bush, just let this one go... |
|
Leave it to the next president. This is just one more thing you're going to fuck up, so just leave it alone. Remember how Hussein was killed? A bunch of Shiites taking pictures and taunting him? His head being snapped off in a botched hanging? How did that make us look? Either Obama or McCain could do a much better job with Bin Ladin than you have. So just let this one go. MKAY?

I remember when the invasion of Iraq was imminent and I was bitching about it. I can't tell you how many said how Saddam had helped Bin Laden to mastermind 9/11, how many told me that a country as strong as the United States would blow the hell out of Iraq in a matter of days and how many said getting Hussein would be just as good as getting Bin Laden.
Bin Laden was the mastermind behind attacks that hurt my country. The Clinton administration was hot on his trail. A Gore administration probably would have got his ass before September 2001.
Saddam Hussein was a bad man. But the American people never should have been distracted by the Little Bush White House into getting Hussein out of power. One Bush knew better than to do that. Now, if only he had convinced his children to stay out of politics.

12. Following the 9/11 attacks people were in distress |
|
We were all afraid. I was at the university at that time and while everyone else was getting either caught up in nationalism or standing with a question mark over their heads, I was getting angry at where I saw bush taking us. I can tell you that I was told to "love it or leave it" more than once by young Americans. I laughed and told them that I had come full circle, because when I was young I was told the same thing by the older people. Anyway, as time passed and people began to catch on that I (and people like me)was right, they began asking me what I saw as the future of this country.
I told them that I saw a vision of this country in ruin. That it would never be the same after bush and his people got through with it. I told them that I hoped I was wrong but this is what I saw. Unfortunately I was not. My vision was what has happened to this country. Natural disasters and the political capitalist gain games they have played have left this country drained of its resources and it economically drained. I wish the Iraq war was the only way that bush has fu**ed us, but it is only one of many. And he continues to do so today. I'm afraid of how bad off we will be when he leaves office, and I worry it will be too big a task for any democrat (even Obama) to put us all back together again. We are Humpty Dumpty and we have fallen off the wall.

But her words were never confirmed, so for all practical purposes we have to assume he's alive.
And either way it doesn't excuse the Bush Administration sitting on the issue for years.

I think he, Stewart and Maher are the 3 best commentators I have seen who can cut through bullshit so gracefully and forcefully.
I would hope alot of the public can see this pandering for what it is, an attempt to sway the 2008 elections which will hopefully cause some people to question 'why didn't you actually try hard back in 2002 rather than wait until a few months before the 2008 elections?'
No matter what it is lose/lose for Bush. Fail to get Bin Ladin and you are a failure. Get him and people wonder why you distracted the military in Iraq instead of trying to get him in the first place, since you had the capability all along but wasted it or didn't use it.

I already covered that, but here I go again...
Her words were never confirmed, so for all practical purposes we have to assume he's alive.
And either way it doesn't excuse the Bush Administration sitting on the issue for so long if they believe he's alive.

26. No, it has nothing to do w/Bhutto |
|
OBL died December 2001 due to a lung infection complication. He was buried in an unmarked grave due to his religious beliefs.
Moreover, no evidence has ever been found to connect him w/the September 11 attacks. Even the FBI does not have him on their most wanted list.
Doesn't it make you even a wee bit suspicious that the world has not heard from him in six and a half years, considering his mammoth ego?
There is documented proof that he was in an American hospital in Dubai for kidney dialysis in July 2001.
Osama bin Laden was simply a convenient bogeyman for the attacks considering the fact that he was dying.

I watched the whole think, strangely a few of my words were exactly Cenk's. Currently, I am laughing. George Bush's Legacy: A do nothing, take a vacation presidency. Cenk hits it right. Bush is a Punk. Only a punk would wait till the final hour to seek Bin Laden.
Hey! I just had an idea. Imagine Bush being a Man of Honor. A True Human Being. A Man of Charecter. I try to be a Man of Honor. I never Lie. I do not Steal. I do not Take Advantage of People who place Their Trust in me. A sophisticated man, supposedly seeks to make others in his care comfortable. A wise man seeks to prevent all potential problems before they even happen. The Republicans picked an Idiot to be PotUS. Bush should be impeached, tried, and removed from office.
He is a Criminal.
He is guilty of Negligence.
He is guilty of Fraud.
If a Man of Honor causes a war that has cost a Trillion Dollars, that was not needed, only to decrease the World Demand for American Products by causing this war, decreases the willingness of foreigners to trade with us because of this foreign policy, being a part of the cause of our economic slowdown, as well as now there are some foreigners who are trading against us in the Oil and Food markets helping to increase inflation in Oil and Food prices by my account, 50%, (There are Hedge Funds that ought to be raided because they are guilty of helping to play up these Markets.)as well as decreases the loyalty of the Citizenry for this government, if a Man of Honor had done these things, the Man of Honor should commit himself to heal the wound he caused to the American People.

29. On Cenk's mockery, saying that Republicans accuse Democrats of not caring about national security... |
|
It's policies like the current war on terror that fuel anti-American sentiment in the Middle East and results in terrorism and results in threats to national security to begin with. People really need to realize that.
