Russert, host of "Meet the Press" died of massive heart attack on June 13, 2008.

1. Russert always said he wanted Springsteen on Meet the Press, but never got him.

The pundits have been remarking on how Obama and McCain sat next to eachother and had a very friendly conversation.

One of the pundits said something like, 'It was an only in America moment. The son of a sanitation worker has two Presidential candidates at his service. One will be the President of the United States.'

We know which one. ;)

8. Russert worked as a tour promoter when he was in college

in Ohio (?), and worked hard to get Springsteen booked there early in his career.

said his mother had written an article about Springstein when she and his father were dating. His son said she was an accomplished journalist herself.

pieces over the past few days, but I can't remember it.
