Who loudly proclaimed Bush's "mandate" after the 2004 election. I used to watch his show until that day. I never watched him again.
However, it is good that he is finally waking up.

5. Shouldn't he be imtomatoed over tomatoes? |
|
And impeached over peaches?
Actually, he should be impeached over: Iraq; Justice Department corruption; outing of Plame; military procurement corruption; outsourcing corruption; energy policy; general corruption in all parts of the Administration; destruction of Constitutional rights; and what he is about to do in Iran.

6. Of course! Although Cenk's point about infrastructure (including regulatory infrastructure) |
|
was excellent.
The Republicans always come in and screw both the physical and regulatory infrastructure of this country. Then the Adults (aka, Dems) have to come in and raise taxes to clean up the mess just in time before more bridges collapse, etc.
So the American people take it for granted and buy into the Republican frame that Dems just want to waste money "just because".

15. This is a point that.. |
|
I can't understand why some of these bush lovers don't get. The only reason I think a lot of people are paying attention now is that they are paying high gas prices and losing jobs.

20. It's a very widespread concept, that government should stay out of business and let capitalists |
|
be capitalists. It's a very widespread belief. And it is a reasonable argument, but only to a certain point. Deregulation has gone way too far, and everyone suffers.

7. Cenk makes an excellent point about |
|
the Democrats raising all these problems we've been having because the republicons took away all the oversight. There are no watchdogs only lapdogs.
So Cenk came to this country..he wasn't born here. His American accent is flawless:)

Came here when he was 8 or so, to New Jersey (now in L.A.). Good thing he doesn't have a Jersey accent, eh? ;)

9. Certainly the pattern of deregulation are reason enough to impeach Bush |
|
If it were just the FDA or just the FAA, I might just be writing letters to my congressman urging that something be done to fix the problem, without mentioning impeachment as Lou Dobbs suggests. However, it's all of them. The laws are not being faithfully executed, unless this is the kind of execution performed by a muscle-bound, hairy-chested bloke with a black hood over his head. The pattern of wholesale regulatory neglect certainly warrants impeachment and removal.
The upside of this crisis is that its going to be a long time before the next snake oil salesman comes along and gets elected president by selling the public on deregulation of industry and light taxes on the rich as being the key to economic prosperity.

18. Dobbs has been disgusted with Bush and this administration for a long time. |
|
Taking away his hysteria over immigration, he actually has a lot of good info and makes good points. He's been warning (and wrote a book ) about The War On The Middle Class. The end result being, as Cenk said -- the rich get richer.
And the FAA debacle has been a hot spot of mine for ages. The controllers are quitting in droves, they get shit pay, are horrendously overworked (in such a high stress job, no less) their equipment is dated, and we're at risk.
Great clip, ihavenobias -- thanks.

19. Show me the beef! k*r |
|
But clean it up first. OMG, tomatoes, beef.
I heard a snip of the administration's press conference on the Korean beef controversy.
The spokesman could be heard chorteling as he was asked if the Koreans were paranoid about US beef. It was so condescending, I just figured - hey the Koreans must be dead on.
Lou Dobbs needs to put his big mouth on hold with regard to immigrants and Mexico bashing and concentrate on his strength - muckraking the flith that is the elite's financial-political culture of corruption.

21. Sorry to be a wet blanket.... |
|
but this don't mean shit. Of course Cenk is right, Lou Dobbs is right. But they've managed to play a delaying action for so long, and a large number of Democrats are more interested in gaining power than doing the right thing....I just don't believe it's going to happen, so I can't get excited about the idea. And consider this: if he gets impeached now, that makes Cheney the Prez so Bu$h gets pardoned.
If I could believe that the Dem strategy was to get in power and then prosecute these pigs at a time when they couldn't be pardoned, I'd be all aglow with excitement.
But does anybody here think Barack is going to punish these bastards? Somebody please convince me.
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood this morning, I don't know. I'll go get some coffee....
