1. Hey Connecticut, recall this jerk.
He is a war monger. He is Israeli first and American second. He supports the criminals in the White House.

2. I hope McGoo
Picks LIEberman for his VP. Maybe the idea of another war will bring the young vote out when they find out they would have to bring the draft back to fight a war with Iran, China and Russia. "You know China is big" "So is Russia" as Bush said at the summit in Germany last year. I'm really gonna miss him :sarcasm:

4. Connecticut does not have the recall process for U.S. Senators, as I understand it.
Can any Nutmeg State DU'ers check in to clarify this?

In all liklihood, HolyWarJoe, if he's not on 100 Years John's ticket, won't run for reelection in 2012, and if we gain enough seats this fall, he'll lose his committee slots. Use the Liebster as a motivation to work for a big Democratic Senate majority.

5. That was BEFORE the primary.
Edited on Wed Jun-25-08 12:35 PM by Ken Burch
Obama was a freshman senator and Lieberman was his Senate "mentor". Obama supported Ned Lamont, the ACTUAL Democratic nominee, in the fall after HolyWarJoe lost the primary. Therefore, let the "Obama is Lieberman's BFF" smear be eternally retired...'kay?

7. Retired? Sorry, I'm not buying it wholesale -
and this isn't a smear. Lamont came out as the anti-war candidate and Obama's stance has been anti-war. Don't jump - I'm voting D in November but when this happened, no one liked it here and were quick to pounce on Clinton even though her support of Lieberman was tepid at best.

10. It's enough that Obama campaigned for Lamont AFTER the primary.
There's no reason for his preprimary support of Lieberman(and remember, no incumbent Democratic senator in U.S. history has ever campaigned against another incumbent Democratic senator IN THE PRIMARY)to still matter.

I've proved it's a non-issue. There's no reason to keep it alive.

11. Just wait until January
With much hard work, after January, the Dems will have a real working majority in the Senate.

Then, we can limit Lieberman to the Washington D.C. Garbage Collection and Sewage Treatment Sub-Committee and move his office next to the noisy old furnace in the basement.

Anti-Lieberman Group Delivering 43,000 Signatures To Senate

Wednesday morning, Brave New Films and its allies will deliver a petition with over 43,000 names to selected members of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, asking them to strip Senator Joe Lieberman of his rank and committee chairmanship when the 111th Congress takes its seats in 2009.

"We CANNOT tolerate a leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus who supports George Bush and McCain's War in Iraq. We CANNOT tolerate a Democratic chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee who endorses and stumps for McCain," the petition reads.

Lieberman's spokesman responds: "Americans are tired of this type of old, petty, partisan politics. Sen. Lieberman will continue to put the country's interests before partisan interests.

"

Read the full petition here.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION!
