Jindal is clueless about the reality in his own state. As noted in the Wonk Room, the Hurricanes caused offshore oil spills so large that they could be seen from space (check out a picture here.) The Minerals Management Service reported that 113 oil platforms were “totally destroyed” — a total of 124 offshore spills.

In fact, oil seeped onshore into southeast Louisiana, which saw 44 onshore and offshore oil spills. The EPA called the spills “worse than the worst-case scenario.” Even oil industry representatives admitted: “nature can always topple you.”

It’s hard to see how this is a “great unwritten success story.”

Here in darkest Mississippi, we have a governor, the repugnant Haley Barbour, whose sole purpose in life seems to be to protect the tobacco companies from any threat of being taxed or held liable for anything.

6. It's (big) easy for Jindal...

...you see Louisiana doesn't have any beaches for the oil to despoil. All they have is marshes, mud-flats and bayous...where they fish and net crawfish and stuff. And since, based on the actions of my coonass relatives, they'll eat anything - even suck their heads - it doesn't matter if they've been swimming and/or crawling in oil at all...it just makes it 'go down' easier. So it's no wonder that they didn't notice all that black crap in the nets - hell, those mud-flats are just nasty black crap anyway, so what if it tastes a little greasy - that's what Tabasco sauce is for, to cover it up.

Louisiana's probably the most racist state in the union, so jindal'll be a perfect fit for McLame.

You have to be careful with repukes and listen very carefully to what they say. Maybe this doesn't compare to the Exxon Valdez, but I'm sure it did do damage.
