1. Repugs lack the capacity for empathy |
|
You may as well try to teach a vulture to forgo rotting flesh. It's long been my contention that conservatives are all psychopaths in that they just don't have the capacity for emotions that the rest of humanity take for granted.

15. Well, conservatives do have *some* emotions. |
|
Namely fear, hate, and greed. In fact, it's actually thinking that they don't have the capacity for IMO. They respond to facts, evidence, logic, history, common sense, and experience with (what else?) fear, hate, and greed.
I mean, think about it. The Republican Party has three wings, each representing one of their signature emotions: * social conservatives (hate) * national security conservatives (fear) * corporate conservatives (greed)
Now, there's an appealing combination!

3. Republicans don't really believe in a "United" States of America, |
|
they believe that we are merely a loose assembly of 300 million self-interested individuals.

8. I see an Empathy 101 Seminar for Republicants |
|
Seriously, there will need to be a class for these people. Also, a follow-up memo to those running on the repuke line defining the term empathy and ways in which to show empathy may be needed. I'm sure the creative writing types here could craft some helpful tips. Maybe it should be pointed out that calling people who don't agree with you tree-huggers, terrorist sympathizers, hate America'ers, valueless and cut and runners is not showing empathy.

9. We may well have a Democratic sweep in November... |
|
...but there's are two major conditions:
(1) We don't get complacent with reports like this and favorable polls, but continue to work our asses off and take no district for granted.
(2) We all VOTE and help GOTV, anticipating and counteracting voter suppression and intimidation tactics from the reTHUGs and hate groups, as well as vote tampering.
Our Democratic victories in November must be so sweeping and so decisive that no amount of election fraud or attempted suppression will be sufficient to bring the outcome into question.

question."
Key point. And, my concern has been that it will be sweeping BUT the outcome will go the other way. That is why I think one of our focuses should also be on black box vote tampering, and on demanding sweeping changes to vote verification. I truly believe there exists the possibility of demonstrations if THIS election gets rigged again to favor the Rethugs.

16. In the summer of 1988, Mike Dukakis was up 18 in the polls |
|
I remember that because it was my first presidential election... Dukakis ended up losing by about 10 or so, a 28 point swing.

all the clips I've seen from these folks, I like this one the best. Yes the Republicans can kiss their collective assess good bye. Even here in Kentucky, Mitch McConnel isn't safe. If Mitch gets beat in November, I will sing a happy dance.
