1. McCain thinks he can get away with distorting the truth. Cafferty handed him his head. |
|
McCain is playing to that little fringe of the Republican Party that can't stand Social Security's popularity and success. And he's out there in lala land if he doesn't think people see through him.

Yah, OK. But how much of that is intentional and how much is thanks to McCain's fading mental capacities??? I was watching the bit yesterday where he joked about how our cigarette sales to Iran might well kill Iranians. Stupid comment, but aside from that McCain went on to brag about how he'd not smoked in 28 years now. Right then, his memory - Cindy McCain - chimed in "29 years" (the mic wasn't supposed to hear that) and McCain corrected himself. I've never smoked in my life, but I know that those who have and have quit, know almost to the DAY, when they last lit up. :smoke: John has Cindy at elbow's length wherever he goes - or LIEberman :puke:<- Animation of Lieberman's birth. McCain's synapses are burning out. I think half of his outrageous crap is because he simply can't RECALL what the truth is!

8. You are absolutely correct... |
|
August 28th 1996 was my last day, it's something a reformed smoker will always remember. I think McCain is beginning to lose his ability to recall some of his memory, it's one of the first things to go as you get older.

10. I'm 68 and while I do remember the month and year I quit smoking |
|
I don't remember the exact day. However, I do know that I have a cognitive slowing down and my attention span needs some help. I am less patient. In short, I'm acting "older." I "know" that age has crept up on me. John McCain probably knows it too and the people around him are desperately trying to compensate for his disabilities.

9. I'll also point out that Cindy McCain has had a stroke |
|
which has caused her to lose her capacity for memory, or so she claims. So, I'd say John is in real trouble no matter who he is relying on to remember for him.

4. This is the best the neocons could do. They just want a stuffed shirt...they pull the strings ... |
|
Just like they did for Reagan, the turd we have in office now. They just want a lovable, soft, cuddly, funny "friend" in the White House. Hell, we had the idiot you would have a beer with...now let's get the grandpa you could listen to war stories with, eh?

11. It's really good that the MSM are finally on this one |
|
McCain's fatuous remark hit the liberal blogosphere as soon as it happened. As Dean Baker pointed out, though, the MSM largely ignored it.
There were plenty of reporters present when McCain said it. My guess is that most of the reporters, like McCain, just don't know enough about the basic economics of this huge government program, so they didn't realize how absurd his comment was. A more charitable explanation is that they just needed some time to research and write the stories.
Whatever the explanation is, the word is now getting out there, via Cafferty and others. There's even in USA Today. (At least there's a story on the website. I don't know if it's in the print edition.)
Now we'll find out if this has any legs.

He is the only journalist left at CNN. We need to get this video out. It will kill McCain in Florida.
