1. All three of these men are the epitome of the UGLY American
And I'm sure the Europeans cringe when they show up in their countries. Guiliani probably had trouble actually learning English. :eyes:

2. Giuliani you are a grade-A douche.
And for that I wish you were the GOP nominee...

Does it strike anyone outside the Republican party that it's probably a good thing to learn two languages? Obama was using Spanish as an example, not a policy point. Studies show that children who are bilingual from their younger days are much smarter and have an easier time learning other things.

But no, we're just caving to those damn Mexicans again, aren't we?

5. We are also under educated compared to the Europeans....
Twenty-five years ago when I was 25 i went to Europe for the first time and on this small island off the coast of Yugoslavia I hung out with some locals who were also in their 20's. I was shocked that they spoke 4-5 different languages and they sat around on their free time talking about the world. I discovered then how little I knew about my own country and the rest of the world. I was very embarrassed! I have since then tried to educate myself and my children. We have had two exchange students (one from Germany and one from Norway) each for a year and they were so well rounded (not only several languages but art and music is part of their education). Academically they were way ahead of our students too. We just returned from visiting them a few days ago and I couldn't even get the please and thank-you down in the four countries we visited (turned 50 while we were there and my brain wasn't up for he challenge!). My girls will have their 4th semester(and last at their school) of spanish this next year and they still feel they will not be able to speak it. They are afraid to take art in high school "because they are not good at it"(haven't had very much exposure before now so afraid to take it on). Not only this but they have health care and available college education for all and are very happy with both. We experienced the ER in Germany and 45 minutes of care which included stitches, tetanus shot, antibiotics, dressings and a strong anti-inflammatory for our daughter after falling off a bike and getting a knee laceration cost 50 Euros (about $75). We also didn't have to wait hours or fill out any paper work. What do we get in our country....a war.

6. It's not "anti-American" feelings...
...it's "anti-Republican" feelings. So-called Republican "values" don't square well with human rights and the condescending attitude towards European allies didn't help either. Before Bush, the majority of Europeans had a very positive attitude about Americans and Bush ruined that quite thoroughly, unfortunately.

7. Not only that but they want us to get our act together because when our economy takes a down spin
so does theirs. We didn't find anyone hating Americans just great dissapointment in our current administration and how they are affecting the whole world.
