Five finalists will be voted on later in the summmer If yours is selected, you could win a trip to the convention in Minneapolis on Sept 1. The winner will be part of the press pool and have a chance to shoot a video about the day in the life on the campaign trail. Video will be played at the convention

14. Mmmhhh... well, I'm a Democrat in 2008 because...

.. the Democratic party generally protects civil liberties, addresses environmental problems, spends $$$ on domestic things like infrastructure and public education, and tries to help the least among us.

As far as issues pertinent to 2008, how about (1) getting out of Iraq, (2) undermining the Iranian regime by ceasing the saber-rattling and by befriending the Iranian PEOPLE, (3) addressing our growing healthcare crisis, (4) reforming immigration by making hard working illegal immigrants CITIZENS rather than de facto second class ones, and (5) balancing the federal budget- maybe.

Those sound like reasons to vote Democrat this fall, right?!

The title of the post is the name of the YouTube video. I was encouraging some devilish DUers to create a "legitimate"-sounding video of why they are a republican in 2008 so that they would be entered in the competition sponsored by the Repukes. Winner gets to go on the road with the Repukes, and their video will be shown at the convention (just a way for some DUers to go undercover to get to the Repuke convention where they can create mayem.)

16. I like being a Republican because we don't need blacks or latinos in our party

Really. I was listening to Laura Ingraham one day and she was talking with two people about opening up the party. The guy pissed her off with that "togetherness" thing :puke:.

And while she was going ape crazy on him the lady was blathering on. Now having recorded lots of radio/TV commercials I know radio folks loooove the sound of their own voice. So the mix on air was different than Laura was getting in her headphones. So she probably couldn't hear the lady over her own screaming.

The lady said something like "We don't need blacks and latinos cause they just feed off the government teat. So they're more inclined to vote for Democrats who will give them all the welfare they want and keep them having children so they can live off of our taxes."

I was screaming at the radio "Laura Laura ..shut her up. She is exposing Republican secrets." All to no avail. Laura had her headphones up to loud and on to tight.

23. Because I believe in conservative values

I believe in upholding the constitution, a humble foreign policy, balancing the budget, keeping the nation safe, keeping government out of our private lives, and individual freedom.

And I don't pay enough attention to realize the GOP is the antithesis of all of these things.

That should explain about 30% of GOP voters. People who aren't paying enough attention to figure out they've been duped.
