Vincent Bugliosi gets his point across, through the fear-based antics of Scarborough and Barnicle.

7. That's been happening a lot to me lately, too...
I've had about five videos on DU say "no longer available" but they're still up at YouTube.

I'm using Firefox 3.0, so I don't know if maybe it's a browser thing or if something's up with either DU or YouTube.

2. The idiot who interviewed Bugliosi
was very rude.

Bugliosi's book is a helpful adjunct to Kucinich's article of impeachment, I think.

6. MSNBC was shamed into interviewing Bugliosi
Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 07:42 AM by npincus
about a week ago, the NYT had a piece about the virtusl MSM blackout on Bugliosi's book, how it was a bestseller not by virtue of the usual MSM marketing channels but via the blogosphere. I am guessing that the powers that be over at MSNBC grudgingly allowed the interview to happen...

19. "MSNBC grudgingly allowed the interview to happen... "
Yes, and then set out to do one thing, and one thing only... do everything they could to make Bugliosi look like a crackpot. And the truly discouraging thing about this is they probably succeeded. Remember, 50% of our population is below average.

4. Who is Barnicle, I have noticed he really is the not too bright person and he
does all he can to slam Barack. Lately he is on this kick that McCain shows emotion and Barack does not. Pretty weak, but just watch him, he is actually worse than Tucker, I actually think Tucker might be brighter.

25. You mean disgraced ex-Boston Globe reporter, Mike Barnicle?
Why, he's the fellow that was quit/fired for article fabrication and plagiarizing...

wait for it

wait for it

George Carlin!

The columnist was forced to resign once editors suspected he made up a 1995 column about two children with cancer, reports CBS News Correspondent Jacqueline Adams. Barnicle was already serving a suspension for lifting material from a best-selling book by comedian George Carlin.

The announcement of his resignation drew cheers and laughter in the Globe newsroom.

Assistant Metro Editor Joe Williams is one of the many staffers heartened by the decision to get rid of Barnicle.

~snip~

The column that forced Barnicle's resignation was one in which the columnist told the story of two children, one white and one black, who became friends in the hospital. After the black child died, Barnicle wrote, the parents of the white child gave the black child's parents $10,000.

27. And it wasn't just his stealing from Carlin...
...and, incidently, the bold-faced lying about the theft:
repeat offender --Mike Barnicle
Boston Globe columnist Mike Barnicle's active imagination finally brings him down.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
BY TOM MASHBERG

Barnicle swore he'd never seen the Carlin book. The Globe, still reeling from the forced resignation two months ago of columnist Patricia Smith after she was caught inventing quotes, characters and stories, suspended Barnicle for one month. Later that day, mortified Globe execs found Barnicle on TV -- in a 6-week-old news clip -- recommending Carlin's book, and they asked him to resign. Barnicle said no.

...

But Barnicle had friends like Don Imus and Tim Russert and Marvin Kalb, and he moved product. When money talks, bullshit apparently doesn't have to walk.

Admit nothing, deny everything, was Barnicle's credo. As George Costanza taught us, "It's not a lie if you believe it."

The consummate Court Jester for the DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy.

12. The aren't even selling the book at a local (LA) Borders Express.
The clerk I spoke to said she wanted the book, too, and kept hoping it would come in. It even shows that they have it in stock on their computer, but they never got any. Incredible.

15. Notice near the end when Bugliosi asked Scarborough
if he read the book and Scarborough smiles as if to say, "Of course not, your nuts." Then, with a smug grin, Scarborough asks Barnicle if he read the book and we see a shot of Barnicle leaning back in his chair almost laughing as if he was just asked if he read Britney Spears' biography.

This was no interview, no attempt to give viewers information about the book so that they can evaluate the info themselves. This was a hit job, and it was despicable. Scarborough and Barnicle had an agenda to discredit Bugliosi's book. That was the only purpose for having him on. A perfect example of our corrupt news media at work. Disgusting.

When the corporate media does their hit job, its not based on fact. Just childish sneering.

monitor to see who is speaking at the time. They were ridiculing him the whole time.

Bush sycophant that he is. Chalk one up for Bugliosi. He was great. I speed-read his book at Barnes & Noble and I recommend it. I will probably read it when I get the time. I know most of what is in there and I support Bugliosi 100%.

22. I admired Bugliosi's persistence. Once again Scarborough tries to cutoff any points being made.
I hope an investigation opens up regarding the death of that staffer in Scarborough's office. There's still something foul smelling about that whole thing. While you see stuff from 20-30 years ago constantly coming up on the Clintons, Obamas and other prominent Democrats, largely over red-herring issues, this case seemed to open and close quickly.

There's where my suspicions originate.
