1. Jayzus. Clueless much John?

This month will be the first month ... since I bought my house in '98 ... that I'll be late on my mortgage payment. 'Cause I cannot afford it until I get paid on the 18th.

Oh yeah, things are all sunshine and butterflies Johnnie boy. Things are going great. Wheeeee!

Something tells me winter is gonna be waaaaaaaaay brutal this year. Last year, just to afford my natural gas bills, I kept the house at a fairly chilly 45-degrees (used a space heater in my bedroom, moved to the bathroom for showering ... nevermind sitting down on a FLIPPIN' cold toilet seat to pee) ... and Centerpoint Energy reports natural gas prices will be up to 50% higher than last winter.

I'm seriously afraid I won't make it. Horrifying. I have nightmares of foreclosure, and having to move from Minnesota to Arizona ... me at (by then) 43 ... to live with my mother.

5. It absolutely breaks my heart to learn of fellow DUers in or approaching crisis...feel so helpless!

Not rich by far, but hubby and I are meeting bills and have a roof over our heads. It's amazing how grateful one becomes for the things so taken for granted. We do not use our upstairs, and I have thought seriously about making it available to someone just because I feel guilty that we have space that we aren't even using, and there are people who don't even have a roof over their heads!
