1. I like it!
Great video and great find. Even has Kucinich and Gravel! Probably won't get much positive vibe here at DU but hopefully it will get loads of hits and comments on youtube.

4. Good and powerful... EXCEPT I don't disagree with war that is waged
To stop genocide, or halt the actual agression of a strong nation onto a weak one. (Bosnia, Iraq 1)

6. Sorry, I call bullshit!
Kosovo does not equal Iraq and Obama goddamn sure doesn't equal McCain.

"Hope we don't get fooled again"? WTF? AND THEN WHAT? NADER?

Bullshit video with allusions to some mysterious world-wide order (notice the Masonic imagery) and dramatic music. Then the admonishion from the all-seeing, all-knowing videographers to "not get fooled again"....and nothing.

Complete bullshit.

10. Agreed
This video shows an utter lack of understanding of geopolitics and historical context. Ridiculous nonsense.

11. Must be nice to live in your world...
...where every bullet and severed limb is nicely framed with an historical context.

And obviously its just ridiculous nonsense: It's not as if its a video of direct quotations from the relevant politicians who have been ordering and calling for these wars. Oh, wait...

America is in a state of continuous war and has been for a long time. Sure, they aren't all the same war, but how much context do you really need when bombs are falling on your homes and schools and hospitals?

Some of us are extremely concerned not to hear Obama denounce the sabre-rattling with regards to Iran.

I know this is the 'democratic' underground and everything, but in all honestly I agree that there is very little actual choice, and I mean the choices that really matter. Not saying Obama is McCain, but I would like to see a lot more differences between them, like not going to war with Iran for instance.

13. Well....
Which wars are you talking about? Somalia? Haiti? Kosovo? The 1990's was all about humanitarian intervention by the US to help people. Did we always do a good enough job or execute perfectly? No, but that doesn't mean we should stand by and let individuals like Milosevic act as they please in their own borders killing untold numbers of innocent people. Look at the recent UNSC vote by China and Russia to block an arms embargo on Zimbabwe. I don't want an international system ruled by those guys. The video projects America as some marching demon on the world stage with all its scary military bases and masonic intentions. Not to mention the creepy music and references to "new world order" to scare people. America has responsibilities all over the world that require her to project power. Thats just the reality of the world.

15. I would like to think a round of pats on the back are deserved...
but I just don't. Unilateral intervention is the wrong policy almost without exception, and dropping bombs is no kind of peacekeeping.

I don't want an international system ruled by China and Russia either, but I don't see why the US would do any better. From any viewing position in the rest of the world outside the British Parliament, the US does look an awful lot like "a marching demon on the world stage," complete with illegal invasions, renditions, torture, secret prisons, and a definition of 'the enemy' that harkens back to witch-hunting days.

Its not the way I would have edited this video, or the imagery I would have chosen to invoke, but I find what is happening right now in America much scarier than any masonic connections.

16. I agree
I think some of the criticism against the policies you mentioned has been legitimate and long overdue. For the time being I just don't see who challenges the US (aside from a rising China and cranky Russia). We are just too powerful, spending less that 5% of GDP on the military, for anyone to reach that same level. Anti-Americanism has been on the rise long before the current administration for entirely other reasons than torture, secret prisons, etc... The US is going to be the sole superpower for a while still and I think we should strive to improve it as best we can.

And that the United States' goal is to take over the world and kill everyone.

Seriously, I don't agree with Iraq War II by any means, but let's try to stop demonizing the United States. You can put ominous music and pictures of collateral damage together and make anyone the bad guy. How about making a video like this where you put terrorists and the victims of those terrorists in front of some really insidious and dastardly music?

9. We already have that.
"How about making a video like this where you put terrorists and the victims of those terrorists in front of some really insidious and dastardly music?"

I call it the MSM.

What's wrong with demonizing terrorists?

14. They don't need to be demonized.
We all know there are nut-cases in the world who are demons enough without embellishment, but a persistent campaign of fear-mongering in the media is itself a form of terrorism; state-approved terrorism designed to secure your acquiescence to any number of war crimes currently being committed around the world in your name.

According to you, its okay to demonize foreign terrorists with dramatic music and righteous indignation, but American terrorists are beyond reproach. I just don't see it that way.

8. Incontrovertible : War is Hell
But exactly what is this simplistic video saying ?
Is it suggesting that the US and its allies (i.e. Blair) are the root of all evil and violence ?
Is it suggesting that "love power" is a viable foreign policy tool ?
Is it endorsing the "New World Order" conspiracy paranoia of the survivalist fringe ?

Or is it just another object lesson in what happens when video editing technology gets into the hands of the "great simplifiers" ?
