2. Dang....
this guy gets it. Surround yourself with the best minds, not your cronies. Sounds like JFK all over again. The promo's made Couric sound like she had her knife out and was sharping it. I feel better that he can handle himself. He really has grown into a statesman with ease. Let's hope he can be the leader we need.

3. The job interview questions...
Ah yes, the "Tell me one of your weaknesses (so I can beat you over the head with it later)."

I swear, the older I get, the stupider the world becomes. I don't think you could ask this question in a job interview 20 or 30 years ago. At least, not with a straight face expecting a serious answer. Nowadays, managers (and in this situation Katie is trying her hardest to sound like a manager) are too stupid to make inferences from an intellectual discussion of an issue, so they just blurt it out: "Please, I have this blank I have to fill in on the form.....and I'm too stupid to know how to do it. Could you hold my hand so I make my letters right?"

I can guarantee that Walter Cronkite would never have asked such a question.

4. Katie Couric; "Give me some ammo to shoot you with"
I mean, really... "Why do you think they like John McCain more?"

5. When Henry Ford was confronted by someone who said that
he did not know enough to lead the company Ford gave a similar answer. Ford said that he did not have to know anything. All he had to do was push a button on his desk and the leading expert would provide the answer.

6. Wow!
That's some hard-hitting professional journalist talk, isn't it? Why is she there? Irrelevant as usual.

13. Based on this clip I agree with you
I hate interviewers who only ask easy questions and never put politicians on the spot. Larry King is one.

Katie is polite and is giving Obama the chance to respond to some valid questions and potential criticisms.

She tries to play the role of a neutral. She is not a cheerleader like Keith Olbermann or Bill O'Reilly.

10. katie is a disgrace..
she was mean spirited to Elizabeth and John Edwards..you could see it in her beady eyes.

I knew Obama could handle her obvious attempts at manipulation.
