it's worth mentioning that restoring the rule of law and preventing telecom companies from walking away from their complicity in the Bush warrantless wiretapping program is an issue that a lot of folks at this site and others like it care an awful lot about...

and that perhaps instead of belittling and dismissing Mr. Barr, we ought to be thankful that at least ONE of the candidates is willing to take a firm, progressive stance on this issue...

and that perhaps those supporters of Senator Obama who do disagree with his recent votes on FISA can hold Mr. Barr up as an example of some actual bi-partisan agreement on this topic, and continue to advocate a new "evolution" of his position on the matter.

Just a thought.

8. As angry as I was at Barr during the Clinton impeachment, I now thank him.

And I'm not talking about the fact that it was Barr et al who spurred me to learn to use the computer. I thank him for having the gumption to stand up to the enemy that he knows too well.

and that is an area of consensus that progressives and conservatives should be able to come together over.
