I logged into YouTube for the first time in months to rate a video posted here on DU. I had a 2003 video of Biden and Wolfowitz bookmarked there, and it brought me to this one. Both are quite stunning to watch * 5 years later * :(

1. Feingold is one great Senator.

So perceptive and courageous, unlike too many of his Dem colleagues.

And I hate to say it, but Wolfowitz id a pretty smart guy as well. Terribly misguided in his thinking, but he was smart to get out of the Bush administration well before it all came crashing down. I can't help but wonder if his views have changed since this hearing.

2. smart neocons are scariest of all

I was less concerned about Bush than I should have been - figured, damn, tax cuts for the rich, environmental downhill, bad for Supreme Court. But I kind of hoped he would be too stupid to get much done. What I didn't take into account was Cheney's goals and connections (didn't know much about him), Rumsfeld, etc., and the connections the Bush family has, and all that. Plus 9/11 fell into their laps and they sure made the most of it.

I pay more attention now.
