but the statement that "We WERE greeted as liberators" is truly astonishing. This is downright scary.

One of the perquisites of age is that we sometimes replace factual memories with memories of our own imagination. It is a gentle way to live out one's final days and people politely accept that as more-or-less normal. But when the guy running for President does it, it is a serious problem. What other fantasies are parked in that 72-year-old brain ready to be acted on by this deranged old coot?

And just for the record, I'm not that far behind him. I don't believe I have any trouble keeping my facts straight, but I fully expect by age 72 to be far less competent in that regard. That doesn't mean McCain is a worthless person. That doesn't mean America should not hear what he has to say. Between these moments of manufactured memories, he probably has some valuable insights. But not President.

Why are we still at war in Iraq, fighting off the insurgents, if we're greeted as liberators?

It's because the Iraqis are seeing the occupation for what it really is--an attempt to install our puppet government on them and control their resources (oil).

I love posing the question to the Repukes whenever they try to make a case for our occupation in Iraq. I ask them if another country would install their hand-picked leader to run our country and extract resources from our soil, how do you think the people of this country would react.

Their heads explode because they cannot address the question.

Wow, the ONE time FOX Noise SHOULD have gotten the story and trumpeted it to
their right wing minions, and they missed it/ignored it completely. How could
they have missed all those flowers in the streets of Baghdad? I guess their only
conceivable excuse is that, except for John McCain, no one else on the face of the
earth saw it either...........
