11. It's the other way around. The Bush years have been too bad to be true. What's coming
can be good, if it's true. Truth is something beautiful, unlike what most of us are led to believe. The nightmare will come to an end, I don't have any doubt, it's just going to take time.

3. I'd like to hear him mention "bankrupting of the Treasury" . . .
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 09:48 PM by defendandprotect
and, btw, shouldn't that be considered treason?

I think it might be wise to start mentioning that it's what Bush is leaving him with ---

Mentioning reversal of New Deal regulations are part of our current problems would also

be helpful in explaining to the public that these aren't some "market forces" but corruption.

5. Excellent! But...a critique.
I'd like to see Obama kind of expand on the SOP campaign laundry list of:

Gas Prices
Jobs
Health Care
Affordable College Education

And add

Price of food going up
Trouble paying utilities

I think more people are immediately concerned with the jobs, gas, food, bills, than about health care and college at the moment.

If you can't pay your electric bill, how could you begin to address paying for a college education?

It's almost like McCain encouraging everyone to see their doctor if they have a suspicious looking area on their skin. It ASSUMES we all can afford to see a doctor.

Don't assume that people are doing well enough to worry about health care and college -- many people aren't.

8. I don't know if those are good 'sound bite' things that will
make the average voter listen.

Those sound like GOALS - and something to work TOWARDS. We need help NOW.

10. What . . . ??? How about telling the American public WHY they're out of work . . .
NAFTA/CAFTA --- and promise to undo those trade agreements --- !!!

12. Because they don't want to hear WHY - they want it FIXED.
Promising to do something doesn't help us NOW. Right NOW people are afraid they will lose their home, their job, their kids will go hungry.

13. Who in the hell says they don't want to know WHY . . .???
Of course they want to know why ---

How in the hell can you fix a problem if you don't know why it's occurring --- ???

And if NAFTA and CAFTA and other trade agreements continue on they'll certainly have

no jobs ---

What could you possibly be thinking?

9. Ok. When Obama says that we need a govt. that is listening to
the American people he is not talking about the spying on us to hear what were saying. Cuz I know he allowed that fisa amedment to go through with some assurance that the watchers will be watched. Somehow I already have the feeling the govt. knows exactly what I'm saying.
