2. In Colorado, I've seen a lot of McCain ads - mostly attacking Obama. |
|
I haven't seen many Obama ads. If that's true nation-wide, that could be a big mistake by the Obama campaign.

18. nah, let obama keep his powder dry |
|
and his funds in his pocket until at least the conventions are over. no one is going to remember these ads unless he is still showing them. you KNOW what the attention span is of the average american. he can trot out spokespeople in the meantime. i think his campaign has been phenomenally better than mcsame's so far. mcsame may just crash and burn without any help. his famous temper may get the best of him if he gets frustrated enough at not getting obama's dander up.

caging lists, voter purging, intimidation, harassment, lies, and a good propaganda machine to put the fear into the hearts of the ill-informed. Kerry isn't President because he, like Gore, decided not to fight. It seems Democrats are only willing to accept victory if it is handed to them on a silver platter, as if they are just too fine to get their hands dirty. You can't fight a pig without getting dirty. This considered, I believe Obama really is our last chance. If McCain wins, whether by hook or by crook, that will be the end of our country as we know it. Bush has brought us to the brink, McCain would push us off. And to think I felt sorry for the guy in 2000 after what was done to him.

16. Talking Points Memo says this is an example of mccain |
|
"associating Barack Obama with oversexed and/or promiscuous young white women. Presumably, a la Harold Ford 2006, this will be one of those strategies that will be a matter of deep dispute during the campaign and later treated as transparent and obvious once the campaign is concluded."
As a black woman, I get so angry when strong black men are portrayed as threatening to white women, or as as playthings. It's the whole "Obama girl" thing: "sexy" woman is in love with Obama but not because of his policies.
Most of what has been thrown at Obama so far has not surprised me. I have managed to 'brush them off' as Obama did during the primaries. This one, though, I find so utterly frustrating.

They could have just easily painted Obama as a celebrity or "rock star" without Paris and Britney. I completely agree with your analysis of the dog whistle in this ad. :grr:

So, the McShame campaign really doesn't even have to buy many spots. This one will be on all the news shows -- FREE.
And this is going to continue all the way to November.
Soooo....what's the strategy to come back against it in a positive way? Dunno.... do you?

That's a good one.
I think that McCain't's team has devoted to many hours to rolling blunts and throwing whatever the hell they think might stick at a wall, considering Gramps can't keep two thoughts straight in his head for more than 3 days.
McCain'ts ads are too taxing to watch, and thats taxation without representation.
