Northeast Blackout of 1965 left 25 million people and 80,000 square miles (207,000 km²) without electricity for up to twelve hours. About 3 mintues into the broadcast, Frank McGee reports from New York by candlelight (which I'm sure you Peak-Oiler will get a kick out of) ... Frank does seem a bit amused by the whole thing.

1. Wow....thank you! recommended.
I remember it well...I was about 12 years old, and scared to death. Maybe I thought the Russians were coming? I was, and still am, afraid of the dark.:scared: That brought back memories...
Strange seeing that old footage, nice find.
And now I'm wondering how did I get this freakin' old, and wtf will happen next...

peace~
