1. The story is always the same. Discredit the majority by reporting on the miniscule miscreants...

What were the majority protesting? Why not interview them as well?

Is the "news story" at a political march a small group of idiots causing mischief of should it be that the vast majority protested peacefully?

6. I was there

My estimate is that there were tens of thousands of marchers. i've been to Twins and Vikings games and seen those crowds out on the street after. This was comparable. i never saw any of the violence described here. I'm always amazed at the press version of events. Are they on the same planet?

7. Is the press on the same planet? Probably not.

I protested a KKK rally one time along with a small group of people I joined there. We shouted them down, them with bullhorns and us with just our voices. The rally was a bust and ended several hours early. We had to have police protection at the end because the Klan members were so angry. The next day, the small town newspaper ran the headlines that the Klan Rally was a huge success and they planned to have one every year, so on and so on. I was blown away by that story, but the Klan never returned for a repeat performance.

In a way the rally was a success, the racism that had been bad in the town grew ten times worse because it was openly practiced instead of being covert. It got unsafe for my kids there, and we moved out within a year or two.
