He tried to divert the news reader from her question and she didn't buy it. He didn't have anything to say except weasel words and outright lies. He knew it, the reporter knew it, we all knew it.
He should have come to that interview with much stronger responses. Why didn't he? Because even at the top of the campaign they can't make enough shit up to cast this lightweight nutjob in a good light. They're scrambling up the slope and the slope is moving downward.
