The devasting earthquake that destroyed Managua (baseball great Roberto Clemente was killed in a plane crash travelling there to aid the victims.) Somoza said 'WE will live in tents' (while the city is being rebuilt ... I can tell you that a-hole wasn't in a tent.

Also mentioned is the plane crash that the book/film "Alive" was based on and what they did to stay alive and an additional story that in itself isn't interesting but I kept because its such a strange segway from the 'Alive' story to that.
