2. Pelosi is unbelievable...won't bring up S-CHIP before elections 'cause it makes repubs look bad???
Most everyone wants this bill to pass but republican leaders and it was a chance to show just how little repubs care about children's helath issues. One big reason why we are voting them out and Dem leaders just let it slide. Republicans would have this all over the news for weeks before election time if it made dems look that bad. Reid and Pelosi both need to be replaced for their pathetic lack of party leadership.

3. Repubs shamelessly shoved the Iraq War resolution down Dems throats
In fall 2002. Dems can't even get up the nerve to pass good legislation for... children? Wow, that is embarrassing.

And comments.

7. I hate to tell you this....but NOBODY is watching MSNB C....
I'm sure that caught your attention. Just FYI, I'm traveling across the country right now...staying in numerous different motels, hotels...and I have YET to be in one that has MSNBC on it's cable listing.

The propaganda network is on 95% of them, and CNN is on probably 99%. I have yet to see MSNBC on one motel/hotel cable listing.

I'm sorry folks....but we watch it at home and on the net...but this country is pumping the propaganda to the masses, and great voices like KO and Rachel are hitting on deaf ears.

We are f*cked!

I think that most homes with cable get it without asking for it.

12. comcast recently removed msnbc from its expanded cable lineup.
I think you have to pay for the hd package to get that channel now.

13. You're kidding.... that's messed up
I guess that's not really surprising anymore though. It really is time to go. Everytime I think "the next step will probably be this..." well wouldn't you know that "this" has already quietly happened.

18. It's on our Comcast expanded basic
in northern Colorado. Where my mother lives, in Washington state, she has Comcast expanded which does NOT include MSNBC. Regional franchise options, maybe? I obviously have no idea how that stuff works.

24. You are right, It was removed for "change to digital" beginning,
at least here is MA. Comcast lost me as an extended service subscriber because without the 8 to 10 PM slot on MSNBC, there is really nothing worth paying $54.00 a month for. Gave me a good excuse to give them less $$$. I severely dislike Comcast but sure miss KO

11. Back in the day, when everyone was fawning over the various commentators on Air America,
I started getting tired of Air America, except for this one show that was on as I was coming home from work in the morning. I would tell my husband about this woman who had such a crisp announcer voice (best I had ever heard), who was gently sarcastic but all to willing to help fill in the blanks so that we could be as astonished as she was. I'm so, so pleased to see where her prodigious talent has landed her. It's nice to see nice people finishing first, not last.

I adore Keith Olbermann too, but I'm well aware that he's a dick. Yeah, he's our dick but a dick nonetheless. Rachel, however, is genuine nice and one of the best liberal commentators to come out in well, forever.

22. Can you elaborate?
I've never heard it said before (except by O'Leilly fans) that Keith Olbermann "is a dick."

Would you be kind enough to substantiate that comment so I can understand why you made it?

25. This article has a bit of it
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 07:52 PM by tavalon
http://nymag.com/news/features/30338/

There are a number of other interviews where he himself has mentioned that he suffers from assholeness.

However, ass or not, he is a huge hero of mine.

27. I love it!
"Keith Olbermann is pissed off. That’s nothing new. Keith Olbermann has been pissed off since he could lift the toilet seat."

Okay, this is a really long article that I want to savor, but I'm still at work. I'll defer reading and appreciating the whole thing until later.

And, for the record, KO may be perpetually pissed off, bombastic, caustic, and ... okay, I guess it's true, a bit of an ass at times ... but like you, he's a HUGE hero of mine!

Thanks for this article! I'd never have seen it otherwise.

30. I've read a number of articles that say in his own words, that he's pretty aware of his ego
but that he's gotten better at destroying people underneath him - now he tries to destroy undeserving people above him or those who perceive themsolves to be a bove him, like our useless emperor.

31. Finally got to read the whole article.
There was some interesting stuff about Keith's background that I didn't know which obviously has had huge influence on the person he is today. Very enlightening and enhances my opinion of him, despite personality quirks and bombast.

14. I hope they don't "produce" the show to death
I was in class last night and so haven't seen it yet (its on the DVR), but that music was - to me anyway- very annoying. Like the cicadas in my ears (otherwise known as tinnitus)

15. Me also - one of the joys of listening to Maddow on the radio
is her brilliant use of silence - pauses - between what she says. The annoying background music destroys that quite a bit.
