2. I haven't watched the whole interview. She kept the money. Did |
|
Gibson ask her about returning the money?

6. thank you. Where is the money, Mooselini? What did you do with the money? |
|
It doesn't matter that you didn't build that bridge or that you rescinded your support after the fact---the fact IS: you didn't return all of that money. You kept it and spent it. If you HAD returned the money, you could use that to shut everyone up about this, but the fact is YOU DIDN'T. You are still lying by omitting this part of the story.

9. I don't think it's common practice to return money, The Governement never asked for the money |
|
back, and I read somewhere, Alaska got an additional 40 million this year for the same bridge Our Government has egg on it's face for this one too

21. A reformer would not have excepted the money... |
|
Not take it and spend like everyone else she is railing against.
She requested it, received it and spent it, what is the difference between she and the people she accuses of wasting money?

25. But she was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. |
|
She is simply an opportunist who jumps on whatever bandwagon is going by. She has no commitment to reducing wasteful government spending. If she did, she never would have charged the government per diem for living in her own house.

23. yes, he did - and she just rambles about states having the right to |
|
make infrastructure decisions. Gibson nailing her on per capita earmarks vs. Illinois was perfect.

3. She looks a bit more relaxed in this portion of the interview (must be the next day |
|
or something -- she changed her outfit.) But maybe that's because Gibson is addressing a topic she's been briefed on, and has the answers down pat. I'm looking forward to more Bush Doctrine type questions and others that deal with her claimed experience in foreign policy.
PLUS -- how she plunged her teeny tiny town from being solvent into being in the red -- like Bush did with our country.

17. And this is why Obama should keep hounding her on this every day |
|
She is in so deep she can't back off.
Tomorrow, he needs to say, "In the past we have heard Governor Palin say, in front of 40,000 witnesses, on no fewer than 14 occasions, and she went to Congress and told them 'Thanks but no thanks to the Bridge to Nowhere'. Well it turns out I'm a Senator and I don't remember her telling me that. I've had my staff check the Congressional Record and they can't find her ever saying that. So tell us, Governor Palin, when did you go to Congress and tell us 'Thanks but no thanks'? What day was it?"
That will be the news cycle for 48 hours. All the talking heads will be discussing whether it was a fair question, Then Palin willargue she didn't mean the statement literally, just metaphorically.
The next day, Obama comes back with "OK, so now I see where Governor Palin now admits she never came to Congress and never really said 'Thanks but no thanks'. OK, I wonder why she made up that story. What else has she said that we shouldn't take seriously? And by the way, if this was just rhetoric for the idea of saving taxpayer money, when is she going to give you your money back?"
At that point, the crowd starts chanting "REFUND FROM NOWHERE -- REFUND FROM NOWHERE -- REFUND FROM NOWHERE"
Make this woman regret that statement so much that she will be afraid to say ANYTHING from this moment forward.

|
work with their congressional reps to get their share of earmarks....you know the earmarks she thinks are so vile and wrong.....but they're now okay.....as long as it's her.

15. Poor Charlie Gibson - cameras were rolling - but |
|
I get the sense that Charlie Gibson wanted to grab her nose and give it a good twist until she told the truth and stopped her non-sensical chatterboxing. She's obviously a politician's politician - all the more reason she shouldn't be anywhere NEAR the White House.

|
"Governor Palin, when did you appear before Congress and tell them 'Thanks, but no thanks'?"
"What day was that?"
Why is it so hard for these "journalists" to ask the most obvious questions?
