3. That's Reed Dickins.
I posted about his comment the other night, about Obama's resume. It really pissed me off. Asshole.

11. WHY, when Repukes like Dick-ens disparage Obama's resume, doesn't anyone
ever mention that he was a 'community organizer' right out of college but since then he's been a PROFESSOR and a STATE SENATOR before going to the US Senate???

WHY doesn't anyone speak up and defend him on this??? It drives me CRAZY!

And Dick-ens certainly was in 100% vile, nasty GOP meme spewing mode, wasn't he?

17. Not just a professor...
...but a CONSTITUTIONAL LAW PROFESSOR! After the damage bushie has done, it would be amazing to have a president that understands the constitution.

18. Exactly! I fear that they don't play up that part of Obama's resume
b/c somehow being smart and well-educated has become a NEGATIVE to a large portion of our electorate. It makes me want to SCREAM!

On a happier note--- welcome to DU! It's a nice oasis where intelligence is actually APPRECIATED! :hi:

7. His claim that the Democrats are focused on image, not issues is a LIE.
A big, fat, humongous, bald-faced fucking LIE.

Barack has emphasized, relentlessly, his positions on the issues. McSame has emphasized, relentlessly, image/spin/personality/insults/perceived insults/celebrity/past associations and other endless bullshit.

2. If Repug guy SERIOUSLY thinks the debates will decide ...

5. Don't count on the debates.
Get real!

Bush was clobbered by Al Gore in the 2000 debates, and again by John Kerry in 2004.

Then the post-debate media spin kicked in and turned public opinion around.

Remember Gore's "sighs," and "invading Bush's personal space"? Frank Luntz' phoney "focus groups," and his first question: "which candidate came across as more likeable?"

Same old, same old: ignore issues and focus on trivia.

6. John Kerry erased a 10-14 pt lead in one debate
In the 2000 debates Bush was bound to do fine no matter what, he had lowered expectations so much, plus he was a relative neophyte to Gore. He needed to cut into people's questions about experience, intellect etc. He had deficits there and he made those up.

Right now, people think McCain has advantages in leadership qualities and national security. Obama can cut into that significantly by just standing on stage to an old and tired looking McCain. Almost always the newer person on the scene (or somebody who is a challenger) benefits from debates. Carter vs Ford. Reagan vs Carter. Clinton vs Bush, Sr. Bush vs Gore. And even though he lost in the end, Kerry vs Bush.

So don't dismiss what they can do, usually somebody in Obama's position gets a big lift in debates and if you look at the general direction in the country that is even more to his advantage. Just by getting up and going toe to toe with McCain will improve his numbers in leadership and security.

9. Why is there a freebie on saying toilet paper has more substance than Obama

Not to says she did a bad job hitting back against the j-hole but I wanted her to hit him over the head with some of the laws and policies and accomplishments Obama has. If we need to, focus on one, SUPPORTING THE TROOPS!!! Increasing benefits, better armor, better health care, etc.

13. Well good. If the Republican guy is correct and the debates will 'be very
decisive', then we've won.

16. If I'd been her, I would've started laughing at him.
He was so full of crap that it actually got funny. Dems don't care about issues? Cult of personality? Obama's resume is thin? People like Palin? Laughable. Entirely laughable. I would just started laughing at the guy.
