Speaking in Colorado, Barack Obama calls the Wallstreet crisis the most serious since the Great Depression and blames the McCain-GOP policies for the crash.

3. the system is broken,..
yeah the GOP has removed most regulations on banking, investments and giant resource extraction operations of the global corporations,. now they are 'bailing out' banks that have 'failed'. what that really means is they are giving your money (future taxes) to the bankers that have already taken all they could from the system,. and now requite even more,. . money is not destroyed, it just moves from your retirement savings into the pokets of these already disgustingly wealthy bankers and corporrate pirates. Wake up the system is broken!

7. didn't like the speech at all
I actually didn't like his speech at all today.
His message doesn't really have any focus and he is being way too courteous to McCain to his own detriment.

To paraphrase the overall message, it was "Though I don't blame McCain for what happened, the philosophy he subscribes to is at fault and it is closely related to what the current administration has been championing for the last eight years. Therefore McCain is somewhat responsible for the current economic climate and he certainly isn't going to change his mind now"......

This message is way too academic and technical, and certainly way too confusing for a regular Joe to weave through to get the core message. It's not going to play well as a soundbite and definitely doesn't have a powerful core message to resonate with the intended audience who are mostly independents.

I think Obama should really sharpen the attacks and focus his message on the "failure of the Republican party" and "John McCain's complicity" in the whole mess. I think "Democratic Party vs. Republican Party & McCain's Complicity" is really the key to winning the election.

Obama should really get back to the message he had at the convention and make his speech more about the Republican party as the baggage that McCain carries: "Have you noticed that the Republican party has been running the economy into the ground for the last eight years!? If they like executive responsibility so much, why don't they own up to their failures and step down! If they want to save the country from this mess, why don't they do it NOW! If they want to change the way things are done in Washington so much, why don't they do it NOW?! Think about it. They are still in power and has been for the last eight years! The thing is, they CAN'T and they WON'T. As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibilities. With McCain comes the Republican Party!" , etc. etc.

8. I think Biden has been a good mentor. He's sounding bolder more assured again.
