I've always been a huge fan of Reich.

His book "The Work of Nations" is still vitally important - he explains in very clear (non-economist) language how we screw over the 75% of kids in this country who never go to or FINISH college. Our entire focus is on the 25% - 30% who graduate from a 4-year college and everyone else can go to hell.

He is a great economist, and truly understands the labor markets.
